He was caught trying to cheat in one of the worst ways possible, and his entire career is in question because of it. He has no one to blame but himself.

I don't automatically assume he cheated against Cotto, but I'm not exactly going to go out of my way to defend him, either. He might have. I don't have a problem with those who think he did.

Yeah this was disproved by other pictures. Its not a crack. I don't care enough to search but this has been gone over to death.I'm not saying they didn't try to use illegal padding, but the conclusion I got was this picture is misleading and not a crack.

I'm a Cotto fan but it's still a difficult subject. There's some alleged evidence that people make a case for, but Johannes above just did a good job refuting the evidence as well. I think maybe one day a long time from now we'll know the truth.

and this is a pic of cotto going into the 10th round.

cotto just looked exhausted, he had nothing left in him. and cotto himself said margarito punches felt the same to him after their 2nd fight so i dont think he used plaster

          1. im not a margarito fan
          2. im looking at the evidence, do u think the 'well he cheated this time so he must has cheated before' argument would hold up in court? it makes it more questionable no doubt but u cant convict someone based on this
dude, you keep avoiding the question. I already told you I saw no concrete evidence but gave you reasons why I think he did.

Are you interested in truly discussing this? If so, be a straight up poster and kindly answer the question.

I'm not a fan of either guy, but wasn't there a test done which proved that plaster of Paris could not have been used? It showed that you would break hand rather than anything else I believe.

In the Cotto/Margarito fight, there was also a su****ious conversation in Tony's corner in one of the middle rounds where they ask him about his punch. Something like, "How's your punch?" or similar. I can't fully recall but there were some videos posted back in the day about it.

I think one of the biggest factors for Cotto was getting his nose broken early in the fight, causing him to breathe through his mouth and swallow a lot of blood.
Sorry i dont know how to post videos, just links

In this video, The cutman (NOT THE TRIANER) asks him "hows the punch"? In spanish it sounds like hes asking about margaritos punch and not cottos.

Yep. It was black thread from the glove if I remember right. Besides, if it was a crack he probably wouldn't be able to use the pads again, which the evidence showed they were using previously used pads.

The opposite iirc, it proved that all the materials used to make plaster of paris were present on the pad.
