According to Lara's manager you mean. Hard to pass over a fighter who cannot fight on your network. Can't you anti-Golovkin fools get a new tune? It's been the same couple of things for the past two years and they get debunked over and over and over again but you just never get it into your heads. We know you can read because you reply to posts and post about articles. So I guess it just means you are ignorant @ssholes.

Not so. You lose the Ring lineal title if you don't defend against anybody in that division for longer than 18 months, or if you move up or down to another division.

But Cotto, who has the WBC middleweight title in his possession, still has an obligation to face Gennady "GGG" Golovkin, who is currently the WBC interim-champion based on his victory over Marco Antonio Rubio last October.

I know some will disagree, but that is a fair call from Team Golovkin imho.

In fact I dont see how anybody can argue.

        I hope Cotto is stripped.

That will not affect the fight I want to see, and likely the best fight at 154.

        Or 155, wherever.

If I were ggg I would use my right to the title fight and not take step aside money. Because we all know whoever wins neither guy will fight him so make them fight with no title. Haha that way he can still pick up the wbc from someone else, a real middleweight. Simple as that.

Both agreed on 2016, yet GGG is the only one who passed?

With "fans" like you Gennady doesn't need haters.

Oh I agree, Cotto/Canelo will agree to nothing, and nor should they really.

But that is still a fair call from Team Golovkin imho.

The result being that Cotto will be stripped, then everyone gets what they want.

              1) Team Golovkin want hype/market share/money, so they can fight {insert cab driver here} for the vacant WBC title..... that decision will not affect them, or change the direction that they are heading in.

              2) Canelo is not a middleweight yet, stripping Cotto will not prevent the fight we all want to see.

              3) The golovkids will STFU and stop crying about little ol 153lb Cotto.

              4) Cotto will not defend at the division limit anyway.

Four good reasons to strip Cotto.

The belt is completely worthless anyway, GGG is the only one who values it.

That would also kill the most bullshht lineage in recent memory, so 5 reasons.

If Cotto is too small for Golovkin then he is too small to be fighting at MW. He should vacate the title instead of preventing GGG from getting it by holding onto it and not agreeing to fight.

Cotto looked really good at his last weighin which came in under 154, it makes a lot of sense for him to just move down there. But if he doesn't do that, and insists on holding onto the 160 belts and defending them, he has to know that that is going to come with requests to fight the only fighter at 160lbs that matters.

Also, no case can really be made that Canelo is too small for GGG since he and GGG both come into the ring at ~170lbs (check the figures, you'll see they have both been weighing 167-172 in the ring for the last few years) and are similar in height. But he will just keep draining himself to 155 to make a fight with GGG seem ridiculous when it totally is not.

Ah whatever, none of this is gonna matter once Canelo rips Cotto a new arsehole and then the fight with GGG becomes the biggest one he can make.

No deal then motherfkers...You need Cotto and Alvarez more than they need you. Stop trying to fight welterweights and go fight Andre Ward.

This is becoming pathetic, picking on smaller guys. Ward will get his tuneup out of the way and you can go make that fight right afterwards...fight somebody that will actually FIGHT BACK!!!

Oh and GGG fans, before you get started with the Ward fight Kovalev nonsense...Duva said that Roc Nation and herself have had preliminary discussions...that doesn't look like someone who ducking to me.
Cotto nor Canelo at ww's...Cotto is the lineal middle weight champ and Canelo has been at middleweight since the floyd fight

GGG would not have to fight anyone for the title,he would just be upgraded

Canelo has been a middleweight since the Floyd fight..155=middleweight

If Cotto is so little then go back to 154

AND HOW IS THE LINEAGE BULL****??? It all traces back to Hopkins
