Entertaining lead up and fight with Stiverne. Fighting another top 5 will give us a better idea if the guy's legit. I hope he is legit because he's fun to watch.

wilder is an egomaniac and delusional. he will not last long either getting KO'd or his fragile right hand becoming useless

In all seriousness, I believe he will destroy Povetkin. We're talking a 8-9" reach advantage, more speed and power, and much lighter on his feet with better agility. Povetkin can only win by bumrushing him and swinging for the fences. In the process he will eat a whole mess of jabs and vicious right hands from maybe the most powerful puncher in boxing. Sasha can win possibly but he's going to take a horrible beating to do it.

And spare me "but he knocked out Perez!!!" nonsense. The great Mike Perez is currently ranked 25th in the world. Below Malik Scott (who Wilder KO'd in like a minute) and Christian Hammer.

LMAO if DW is a can-crusher what does that make Tyson Fury whose best win is Chisora? Or Jennings whose best win is Splizlika? Wilder has a better resume than all these guys..

But when you decide to follow up Stivernne by fighting a Molina in ALabama, you are not going to draw interest outside of boxing, which doesn't raise your profile outside of the sport.
Well he'd love to fight Fury or Wlad but they are actually fighting each other in the fall and aren't going to risk a Wilder fight before that one. So the plan is to fight Povetkin in Sep most likely on NBC then face the Fury/Wlad winner early next year. Good enough for ya?

I like Wilder and I've followed him from the get-go but I don't see him as being "the face of boxing" let alone the hw division. Right now the division is experiencing a resurgence as the talent pool deepens with guys like Joshua, Parker, Fury, Jennings (pick one) and stal***** like Klitschko or Povetkin are still around. I think will lose one or more times in the next couple of years - if he faces some of these guys. I think he'll be in some great fights, but I don't think he'll dominate like Floyd Mayweather has done for the last decade.

Wilder will never be the face of Boxing -EVER

Wilder is too dumb to be the face of boxing. Wilder doesn't fight anyone good and is considered a tall black joke in boxing. Wilder is mismanaged and under trained and is laughed at everywhere in boxing. Choking out male Vegas hookers is also not cool. Wilder will be laughed at for years. Now Wlad has the style and smarts and intelligent face that boxing needs. Look at Wilder next to Wlad with out bursting into laughter. see the difference? Wlad is PPV and Wilder is BET TV.

Wlad will be 40 years old when he fights Wilder and has already been showing signs of age. Povetkin will get destroyed as I've outlined.

The only other guy with a chance at him is Joshua and the best guy he's faced was ranked 65th in the world. So I'm holding out judgement on him..

He has the power, the look and the charisma. However, you actually have to be great. Like "beat everyone in my weightclass" great. I am not sure that is the case. Beating Povetkin will go a long way in showing what Deontay is made of.

That is fine, but I still think the Molina fight is a set back. He shouldn't be fighting a guy who is just like the 1st 32 guys he fought IMO. I don't like to see guys step down in competition like this as they prepare to climb the ladder.

There are better HWT's than Molina-Aerrolea, Cunnigham, and some others in the top 10 that he should be fighting next.
