WBA-IBF champion Golovkin's team last week made Saunders an offer believed to be £2.2million to face the Kazakh knockout machine in a world title unification clash.

It didn't say rumored. I didn't see where BJS refuted this.

Could you post the link where he did.

Although it seems likely that the reported $2.2 mil figure is a result of the conversion from Sterling to US$ I'm still not 100% sure that when Saunders is quoted as saying 1.5 mil he's meaning $s rather than £s.

its called being willing to take a risk

if ggg is as ducked as you guys claim, you should be happy that someone who is a champion in his own right, near his division, wants to fight him.

Rosado was a junior middleweight and fought GGG....Ouma was a washed up former 154 champion, GGG fought him

Monroe, Adama, wade were never wases.

Fighting lara would pit two often avoided world champions in the ring together...whats not to like?

floyd mawyeather and bernard hopkins are f#cking legends, man. two of the best fighers ever.

      what has lara done?

      • Lara is so overrated on here, it's not even funny. Lara is a GOOD boxer, he is certainly not elite.

An elite boxer would outbox Canelo, and an elite boxer would certainly have the skills to avoid the slow, looping, plodding, wild, savage punches of Alfredo Angulo. An elite boxer would also certainly dispatch Vanes Martirosyan with ease, twice.

Anybody thinking Lara would even CHALLENGE Golovkin is delusional. Dude would have absolutely no breathing room, and his feather fists would not keep Golovkin humble. Golovkin would literally break him down and if he doesn't brutally knock Lara out, Lara's corner would stop the fight from the sustained punishment.

Lara hardly has the skill to evade Canelo, Angulo, and ****in Vanes..... What the **** is he going to do against one of the best pressure fighters of all time? (inb4 who has he fought. look, you're delusional if you can't see the complete and destructive package Gennady possesses)

EASY, and I mean EASY work Golovkin. IF no Canelo, or Jacobs and Saunders (who would be absolutely easy work and they would only be OK for GGG because of the belts...) Then a move to 168 would be far better for Golovkin, career wise, and challenge wise. Ramirez would actually present a challenge for Golovkin, not Lara.

Would Lara even beat Jacobs, Quillin or Lemiuex? Those are all 50/50 fights, and they are all levels below Golovkin.

            • Awesome. A year later, and still no offer, no fight against anyone at 160 and still not worth schit.

              • So it is official lil g ducked Lara also.
There is a pattern developing in the "type" of fighter they are ducking.

Mayweather wasn't a legend at the time.

You're right but he wasn't going life and death with the likes of Canelo, Vanes, Angulo and Molina down at 130. And Castillo was nowhere near the dominant champ like GGG. So you had smaller guy as a strong favorite, though not prohibitive like Ggg vs Lara
