I have a hard time Haymon is protecting Lara. He takes a percentage of a fighters purse. Would he make more money with Lara vs. GGG or Delvin Rodriguez.

And besides, why not call Lara's bluff instead of using Haymon as a scapegoat. Make an offer to shut his ass up if they are so sure Haymon will block it.

    • GGG wants to get cherry-picked by Froch, while Lara wants to get cherry-picked by GGG.

Gabby takes all comers every chance he gets. Danny's been hiding ever since Matthysse. He didn't clean his division, he fought Khan and Matthysse. Needed to bump Peterson up for the weight and still got worked. Herrera's still waiting to give him a rematch to prove himself. He's likely going to get outboxed yet again by Paulie, but that's alright Al will give him another gift.

        • Easy to appear tough, but this boring, one-dimensional Lara guy is hiding behind Haymon's skirt. In reality, he could make the fight happen if he wanted to considering he has fought on HBO cards in the past. Ball has always been in this clown's court. Haymon doesn't even care about him.

Then Haymon shouldn't have a problem putting him on HBO. I know they don't like Lara's style but what I don't understand is that Gennady will have to make him engage. Part of the reason people didn't like how much he "avoided" or "ran" during the Canelo fight is Saul's inability to cut off the ring properly and fight for 3 minutes a round. With GGG's style, pressure and skill, Lara won't have a choice but to fight. Golovkin doesn't allow for boring fights; his style assures that. Loeffler really needs to call Lara's bluff. And if Lara actually accepts, then all the better.

People will say "Look at Floyd and Pac, they beat Oscar and became PPV stars". But that's a short sighted argument. Because in order to get Oscar, Floyd and Pac dominated several divisions and beat fighters like Diego Corrales, Genaro Hernandez, Jose Luis Castillo, Marco Antonio Barrera, Eric Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez, etc. When they finally got to Oscar, they had hall of fame worthy resumes already! They were world champions in several weight divisions by the time they got their PPV fight. Once they established themselves, the cash cow said, "OK, let's do this"

GGG is not going to be handed a golden ticket to land Canelo or Cotto. Both of them are like "Triple who? **** that dude, I put in all this work and he thinks he can get a payday and make a name off me for beating up Willie Monroe? His ass can wait 2 years."

So no, Lara will not make him a PPV star. But it will put him one step closer to landing a big fight that will get him in the ring with a PPV star. It will get the fans saying "Canelo won a disputed decision with Lara but GGG put him away in 8 rounds. Canelo is scared."
              Well said....

Peter Quillin vs Korobov for $1.4 million. That would have been on HBO. Haymon prevented it and Quillin lost his belt, ended up fighting a tougher opponent for less money. So it seems very unlikely Haymon is motivated by a little more money for his fighters or himself, after all the PBC funding is coming straight out of his financial investors pockets not his own so he doesn't care. He's looking at the bigger picture with PBC right now and he's directly fighting against HBO. Because of that I seriously doubt he would be willing to let any of his fighters go into the network he's competing against.

But yeah, it's worth a shot. Assuming Lara beats Delvin and there are no better alternatives, Loeffler should send them an offer (also assuming HBO approves it).

Its not just up to Haymon. Its Hbo that kicked him out originally, and havent featured a Hsymon fighter in over 1.5 years, and the relationship has only turned more sour. If they wanted Haymon guys back on hbo, theres dozens theyd rather have than stinker Lara

Hopefully Loeffler actually bothers to pitch Lara this time unlike last time when he just paid lip service to the media.
