Dude fights the best fighters in the division, and takes on all his mandatory opponents. NO WONDER Adonis Stevenson ducked this man.

Lets see..... Pascal, Hopkins, a younger Campillo, Cleverly..... Wow. what a resume. Meanwhile in Quebec. Andreazy Fonfara, a career 168lb caveman Sakio Bika and some Russian waste management supervisor Dmitry Suahoztkzh.....

Krusher just keeps on Krushin'. The ducker just keeps on duckin'
Supervisor now? Wow he must have gotten a promotion cuz I never heard of it.

What in the World has happened to boxing ????? How could anyone like ballerina boxing over KNOCK OUTS ???

One of the Recent GREAT trainers was E. Steward ,,,,He LOVED KO's !!

He had a Deadly KO artist named TOMMY HEARNS and whenever you saw him fight YOU were on the edge of your seat because you KNEW somebody is GOING DOWN.

Running is so boring, running from your opponent and throwing a pot shot here and there and more running is more boring, facing your opponent , getting in the SWEET SPOT, and throwing hooks with KO written on each or throwing right hands with KO written on it is much more interesting than running away like a school child hollaring back with a ****** grin I hit you hahahah cann't catch me hahahaha

NEW RULES should read, you lose point for hugging , running and get no points for pot shots.

AFTER over 50 years of boxing, and seen it all,

      KO'S RULE THE DAY
Great fighters that you mentioned. And Steward was a great trainer. But the name of the game is BOXING, not knockout. "Running" as you call it is a part of the sport. Its not a fighter's job to stand there and take punishment. It is, however, a fighter's job to cut the ring off and make the mover trade; and if a fighter can't do that then tough shiz.

I have to ask: Was Willie Pep great? Was Pernell Whitaker great? Are Bernard Hopkins, Charley Burley, and any number of other great defensive fighters not great?

With all do respect Sir, it sounds like maybe you should be spending your time watching tough-man contests and Travellers fighting, instead of whining about a part of the sport that other people do appreciate. And by the way, it couldn't matter less how long you have been watching boxing in terms of the validity of your opinion.

GGG got the better of the first round, the second one he unleashed a massive overhand right and Kovalev had to be carried out of the ring, they had headgear and 14oz gloves. That story could just be made up by a poster. But Dough Fischer talked about how Abel showed him the sparring video of Kovalev/Golovkin, and he confirmed that Golovkin dropped him with a body shot. Sparring is sparring, but that does seem to indicate that his power carries up. Kovalev had just crushed Cleverly for the WBO title so he wasn't rusty or green when it happened.

Like I said, Ward needs 12 rounds to beat Golovkin. Gennady can end Andre anytime. Abraham and Bika showed he can be hurt and Golovkin doesn't allow you to tie him up. Will be an interesting fight.

Nah, I'm just kidding..... Kovalev is the man.

I believe that he will fight Stevenson, and I give him a great chance of winning. I think that Kovalev will fight anyone, unlike Golovkin.

            Great post my friend.

BTW, that guy has not been following boxing for 50 years.

The regulars here know who he is.

              Some good points there.

This is a little like the Williams situation to me.

When he called out Pacquiao at 147, then 2 days later called out Hopkins at 170..... I never took him seriously from that point on.

Suggesting that Golovkin is unlucky, or avoided, is not true imho.

So, these C-class guys are not scared of Golovkin whatsoever, but everybody else is..... right ?

              That is ridiculous.

After 9 years, Golovkin has the resume that he wanted.

              e.g.

Lara would fight him tomorrow, at 160.

Lara would pay more than Monroe, and he would be Golovkins best win.

Lara will not get a Golovkin fight.

              I can see whats up.

Golovkin is not interested in crafting a resume, he is getting one manufactured for him.

We'll see what comes of this. If Golovkin doesn't have an option to fight Froch or Lemieux, I imagine K2 would accept Lara. I don't think Haymon will allow it though because it'll hype up one of HBO's biggest stars and that hurts his PBC investment. Either way we'll hear about the negotiations.

I can't picture Golovkin beating Kovalev in a pro fight, ever. Maybe in sparring one guy was just going harder than the other.

I feel Golovkin's plight with the whole Cotto situation but despite being the best MW in the world he's a pretty standard puncher who just has excellent conditioning, power.

Kovalev is on another level. Methodically outboxing Bernard Hopkins and destroying Jean Pascal is a step above finishing off Rubio and Geale. AND showing even scarier power against Rubio-level opponents.

Imagine Kovalev vs Geale. Come on...
