This is only news to some.

The weight manipulation and timing have been obvious with Pacquiao.

So he will do something he hates... because he is believes everyone else is doing the same thing.

It is nice to see he is a man of principles. I wonder what his approach is towards performance enhancing drugs.

I am not a fan of Pacquiao or Roach.....

But the 147 limit for that fight was stipulated by Hoya.

But yea, after weighing 145 two weeks before the fight, 145 at the weigh-in, and 145 on fight-night..... nobody should be giving Pac too much credit for that win.

Thats version of Hoya would not have beaten any of the top welters, or top Jnr welters.

              Thats how I see it.

..... but he made a career out of using them.

Pac did not invent them, but he made it the norm for catchweights to be part of a fight negotiation..... before that, boxing had divisions

Using " Manny-weight " to manipulate opponents on the scale, was a nasty precedent that lowered the standards within boxing.

Good luck Golovkin, explaining to Cotto why you are unhappy fighting him at 155, when Cotto got forced to put his welterweight title on the line at 145.
