If GGG takes a deal to wait that's on him. I don't get the people saying Cotto is ducking. He has never ducked a fighter in his career. We are getting Cotto vs Canelo which is the biggest fight in the sport now. Cotto isn't afraid of Golovkin. It is a difficult fight for Cotto and it wouldn't surprise me if they fight. As long as Cotto beats Canelo, which is not a easy fight. That is a true 50/50 fight.

Uhh do you know how contracts work? He can be taken to court and likely owe Golovkin his purse plus punitive damages. I don't think he'd do this but essentially it would cost millions of dollars not to fight a guy. If that doesn't scream ducking, idk what doesComment

Exactly. It don't make no kinda sense for Cotto to limit his options. I'm still kinda thinking Mayweather is gonna come calling & then Canelo will get pushed back til May 2016 & GGG is gonna be walking to the ring on a cane for his big payday sometime in 2017 or some such ****.Comment

Works out for GGG cuz he gets even more step aside money because I expect neither of them to fight him afterwards if they do fight.
I expect him to be fighting for a vacant belt no matter what happens. Best case scenario is if Canelo happens, still low for next year IMOComment

Yea it'd be ****** to sign a contract for one of the biggest names in the sport. Cotto gots the power here. Cotto don't need the WBC's title if it comes down to limiting his options & I suspect the WBC & GGG will find that out. Boxing is an independent contractor business, its not the UFC or NFL where boxers are beholden to anyone if they don't wanna be & under the current situation it'd be an awful move for Cotto or anyone with his or better drawing power.Comment

Are you going to repeat the same **** in response to every post or do you have some sort of stuttering problem that cary's from post to post?I agree completely. Cotto is hesitating because he knows GGG would whip his butt. Cotto has already went back on his word before. Back in October GGG made the fight with Rubio to be the mandatory for the opportunity that Cotto got from the WBC to fight Martinez. When Cotto made that deal with the WBC he understood that *after one optional fight, he then had to fight the winner of Rubio/Golovkin sometime this year. Cotto made that deal with the WBC in order to get the opportunity against Martinez. Or else Martinez would have probably fought somebody else or fought Golovkin. *Now that Cotto has to live up to that arrangement he is not being honorable. He is backing out because he is being a diva. He fights Geale and doesn’t fight the winner of Golovkin/Rubio. So what does that say about Cotto’s word.Comment

first i dont think canelo cares about that title, and i dont think there is a way to commit canelo to fight at 160 if he beats cotto, so i doubt that canelo or oscar are willing to pay over a million bucks to limit his options after the cotto fight...
cotto-canelo is such a big fight that the belt isnt needed at all...
now i will agree that canelo shouldnt be taking a shot at the MW title...Comment
