Roach has made Cotto a whole new fighter!

This whole thing reminds me of when Chavez Jr first went with Roach and HBO was slobbering all over him telling us about how good Chavez Jr looks under Roach. Then we found out he was still a bum.

Not saying Cotto is a bum but let's face it, Cotto looking good lately has been a result of handpicking and handicapping.

Anybody who says otherwise is in denial or blind.

Roach is a master at making fights to drain fighter, ( catch weight king) so nothing new until Cotto fights someone with out a catch weight

Let me see it against better competition. Not Delvin or a very shot Martinez, or geale.. Cotto has always looked great against these guys and others like that Australian kid Jennings a few years back.. But let's see it against a Lara, Charlo, Canelo, GGG. Hell, I'd be more sold if he did that to someone like games or boo boo instead of geale

That's the way boxing promoters and networks operate these days, by carefully choosing a guy's opponents he can be built up to look like a beast.

I call it the Golovkin strategy. Had Cotto been put in there against Lara or Andrade he wouldn't look anywhere near as dominant and might even take a loss....but put him in there against Delvin Rodriguez, damaged goods Sergio Martinez, and Daniel Geale? Suddenly he's a monster again.

That's why I respect Canelo Alvarez. He hasn't been afraid to get in there with anybody even if their style might make for ugly fights. If they are supposed to be the best he wants to face them regardless.

HBO's job is to hype up business. This may blow some peopls minds, but they are trying to make money. And anybody who had any set of eyes could look at Chavez Jr and see that he was a scrub, who only had success because he walked out to the ring weighing 180+.

          1. Huge difference between Chavez jr outweighing his opponents by 20+ lbs, and cotto giving up 15-20 lbs to his opponent.

          2. Huge difference in performance against the champion Martinez. Nobody was able to beat Martinez, but as soon as cotto does, salty butthurt fans needed an excuse.

Cotto is a great of our time. Deal with it. But of course, GGG is a beast because he demolished a guy his size, while cotto is a hypejob for demolosihing the same gy, who was much bigger. God forbid if GGG fought somebody who was bigger than him.

poor caitlyn cotto... sacrificing so much vs a weight drained zombie.

the visual display of martinez fighting with forest gump legs was pretty clear to everyone besides cotto fans. no excuses need be made.

All I'm seeing is a more patient fighter who doesn't rush his attack and when he does attack, he's fully committing to his punches, seems to have more faith in
his power. It's made the difference but I wouldn't call that new and improved.

Exactly and Chavez Jr. is no puncher to begin with but when your that much bigger, your suppose to be able to hurt guys. Now that he can't make 160 anymore Chavez Jr. is better off retiring.

he hasn't fought anyone good or healthy since getting with roach.these catchweight farce fights wouldn't be that big of a deal if he simply gave up the belt. ggg has been waiting for a year and they keep stiffing him. if the wbc doesn't strip cotto for not fighting ggg then ggg needs to fight sulaiman which ironically would be the best name on his resume.
