If Cotto were to win, that would mean the lineal MW champion is a blown up welterweight/junior middleweight and he'd fight other blown up guys like Floyd, Pacquiao or Canelo at some kind of 155-156 catchweight, while real middleweights like Golovkin won't even come close to a shot at the lineal title.

yep, he's esssentially created his own division and one in which guys like ggg can't fight in because they can't make the weight. the only guys that can fight there are drained guys or smaller guys that want to fight for the fake middleweight championship. i mean ggg's his mandatory and he still can't get a fight with the "champ" this is an advanced form of ducking. it's very creative.
