I just think most of us believe Golovkin is skilled enough with his accuracy and technique to beat Cotto. Golovkin would be the biggest puncher Cotto faces, no?
Yea, Golovkin would certainly have the heaviest hands of any Cotto opponent. But, Cotto has never had the type of footwork he has now. People are really overlooking that. He's been faster in the past, but his footwork now is smarter and with intention. Movement seems to spoil Golovkin's style. Of course, putting it all together against Genadyis easier said than done.

Cottos footwork has improved & I think it's moreso from his last trainer Diaz (I think that was his name) not Freddie, Roach just mixed in the offense.

Exactly! People seem to forget that Cotto demanded Geale fight @ a catch weight. Golovkin made no such demand of him.

Did you see the hesitation when Kellerman asked Cotto if he'd face Golovkin? He only said "Sure, why not?" to keep from looking scared on national tv. I'd be amazed if Cotto fights GGG.

What a strange conclusion to come to. Golovkin destroyed Geale first when Geale had never been stopped before. Geale hasn't fought since, had to weigh 157 pounds and looked worse than he ever did. Cotto was fighting Geale coming off a KO loss to Golovkin. What did you guys expect, a competitive fight?

I would imagine Golovkin would be taking leather but punching in between Cotto's punches to catch him heavy. I think both have excellent timing and Cotto's jab might be superior in that aspect but Golovkin's bulldozes you back like Klitschko's.

Geale did face Fletcher on 12-03-14, so at least he had a tune-up.
