I've always liked Cotto, but a 160 pound title fight staged at a catchweight of 157 pounds? This is a disgrace to boxing.

Cotto beat Martinez fair and square and is the lineal middleweight champion, for better or worse. If he doesn't want to defend the title at middleweight and wants to instead make big money fighting at a comfortable weight below 160, he should relinquish the middleweight title.

The middleweight title really title means very little to Cotto's legacy in the overall scheme of things. On the other hand, defending a title at a ridiculous catchweight designed to drain an opponent to the max and gloating about it only harms Cotto's legacy.
