Comments Thread For: Juan Manuel Marquez Pleased With His Army of Options

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs), 41-years-old, is still getting back in shape and starting to get a good physical rhythm in the gym.

Marquez has been inactive since last May's twelve round decision win over Mike Alvarado.

Marquez has been dealing with a lingering knee injury which prevented several planned return dates. Marquez has been training under the watch of coach Nacho Beristain and so far the knee, and the rest of his body, is holding up.

Love Marquez as a fighter, but he's one of those guys like Khan who can be very grating if you follow them too much between fights. Either fight or don't fight; we've been hearing this "maybe...my knee might recover. I might fight though. Maybe." stuff for an entire year and he's still not committing one way or the other.

It's funny, as soon as Pacquiao is one the sidelines injured, Juanita suddenly becomes available.

I'd advise anyone fighting Juanita to submit him to drug testing by more than 5 antidoping agencies. Guy is going into the ring nowadays looking like prime Hulk Hogan.

If Marquez isn't better now, than maybe he should just retire. The reason why he has so many offers is because all those other boxers smell blood in the water.

One last fight should do it for Marquez.
