Comments Thread For: Erik Morales: We Will Attack, Not Allow Bradley To Think

After serving in his second week as trainer, former four division world champion Erik 'Terrible' Morales is very pleased with the work he is getting from undefeated Jessie Vargas (26-0, 9KOs), who challenges Timothy Bradley (31-1, 12 KO) on June 27th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. The fight will have the vacant welterweight title of the World Boxing Organization at stake. In championship fights, Jessie is 3-0.

Vargas has worked with several trainers over the years; most recently he was working with former four division champion Roy Jones Jr.

If I recall correctly Roy wasn't either willing or able to commit to training Vargas full-time; he was more part-time, and Vargas said "nothing personal Roy but I need a full-time trainer", or something to that effect

You seem to be a mayweathe fan, than you should know things aren’t as simple as going forward or backwards.

Pre Pac I would have said this was a mismatch and Bradley would run away with the victory. Post Pac I'm not so sure. Vargas isn't great but he's solid. I could see an ugly 12 round decision in Vargas favor.

iirc it was because Roy has a fight of his own coming up?

If Bradley can't beat Vargas he needs to give up.

I guess these two are fighting to be the next Pacquiao opponent.
