Comments Thread For: Roc Nation Exec on Cotto-GGG, Ward vs. GGG/Kovalev

Roc Nation Sports will host is first major biggest event this Saturday when Miguel Cotto takes on Daniel Geale. Roc Nation Sports made a splash when they signed Miguel Cotto this year but before that major signing, Roc Nation Sports also signed pound for pound stalwart Andre Ward.

Ward returns June 20th in Oakland against Paul Smith on the BET Network. Both clients of Roc Nation have been mentioned in potential fights with Gennady Golovkin. Golovkin has been campaigning for a fight with Cotto while his handlers want to build a fight with Ward.

The man instrumental with bringing Cotto and Ward to Roc Nation is David Iskowitz, the man that runs the boxing division for the entity. [Click Here To Read More]

i feel bad for roc nation. they probably thought they were getting a star who would carry them for years to come when they signed cotto but now that we know martinez was a cripple they probably have regrets.

"I think the time has to be right for the both of them."

In other words... 'we want nothing to do with either GGG or Kovalev for as long as we can possibly avoid them. We paid good money to get Cotto and Ward and are not going to see them destroyed before we have a chance to capitalize on our investment.'

For years lol? Everybody involved in boxing knows Cotto is closer to the end rather than the beginning.

good for cotto, he got 1 fight down, 4 to go.

I think this is why cotto is throwing all this "my terms" or I Walk talk cause he still has 4 fights to fullfill to get his money and if he gets destroyed before that and has to retire (no one gonna wanna see him after he gets destroyed) hes not getting all his money, he gonna get the kill fee which will be pennies on the dollar.

So they spent like $75 million or more just on these two fighters? How in the world is that going to pay off?!
