disappointing for anyone who values the integrity of the lineal championship and for anyone who wants to see good fights. mayweather has already beaten cotto; what's the point of seeing that again except for floyd to cherrypick a spurious new title for his collection? what needs to happen is for cotto and canelo to fight each other asap and then for the real middleweight champ, golovkin, to finally get a shot at unifying with the winner. cotto-canelo and canelo-golovkin are two of the best fights that can be made in the sport

WTF? People are acting like Cotto rules boxing and makes these ****** demands. The Middleweight belt is boxing 2nd most prestigious belt next to heavyweight. Cotto has disgraced the 160lb belt. Now GGG is a true champion and should be only the 160lb champ. GGG is a true professional and a true champion and Cotto is a diluted convoluted infected brain damaged moron. a fake title is won and defended at catchweights and held hostage so that real contenders can't get a shot at it. if the title is contested for by the best middleweights at the middleweight limits, it is legitimised.

With Trout, Diaz had him in Big Bear for training, then flew out to Florida weeks before the fight. This completely nullified the benefits of high altitude training, and going to sea level so early negatively affected Cotto's conditioning. It was a costly move and was some of the reason for why Diaz was dismissed after the loss. Diaz was trying to change Cotto into a Cuban point fighter and reinvent him into something he wasn't comfortable with.

Great point on diaz! Cotto has also trained with stewart. Who tried to change him a bit cuz he felt that cotto fought "too low". Heard it from stewart himself when he was commentating on one of Cotto's older fights. Can't remember which one exactly.
