JLC keeps his hands mid-level and leads in with his head ducking down, simply because nobody can hurt him with a punch on the chin. Sure Corrales did....because Diego is what you would call a freak of nature with his power, and even then....It took a massive beating to slow him down and stop him.
All of his prior T.K.O. losses were on cuts, and he's never been down on the canvas as a fighter, and never will.
All he is...is an inside fighting machine that seeks and destroys opponents, because he want's nothing but a brawl. Nobody can brawl with him in boxing, because he is the undisputed champion when it comes to fighting like a man.
actually Hatton might be able to. but I don't know who would win
It's not an easy question, and there are loads of fighters I could see deserving a mention. Hatton, Castillo, Cotto, they're all great on the inside. It's where they were born to fight. And then you have defensive specialists who live on the inside like Mayweather and Toney...Tough call. For the sake of discussion, I'm not going to go with any of them. My pick is Pongsaklek Wonjongkam. Anyone who's seen this little buzzsaw fight knows what I'm talking about.
Nobody fights James on the inside for 12 rounds and comes out for the better. Best defense and short, effective punching on the inside bar-none. Vassiliy Jirov will testify to this.

Honestly man....Hatton would be another victim.
The fight would be interesting while it lasted...but JLC would just wear him out and stop him late like he does everyone else.
Hatton is not on his level as a fighter. He hasn't faced the level of opposition, or been successful for near as long as JLC has. I think it's a mismatch.

Hatton has much better conditioning and stamina than JLC, I think JLC will lead the earlier rounds but Hatton will get him with a TKO later on.

yeah but Hatton has got the size advantage that has to mean something in these kinds of fights

A year ago I'd have to agree with you, and while Castillo has shown real longevity, Hatton's huge win over Tzyu is as impressive as anything Castillo has ever done. Also, Tzyu was as good as anyone Castillo's ever been in with. I'm not comfortable making a call right this moment, but I don't think it's fair to treat Hatton like a prospect any more. He's a legitimate world champion, with a bright future ahead of him. Plus, Castillo may just be slowing down soon. No matter who wins, though, you have to admit it's a fight you'd love to see.
