Anyway Mayweather, Ward in a league of their own Broner follows soon. Believe it or not though I'd actually say Timmy Bradley is up their too. Sure he got creamed over and over again on the inside by Ruslan but I think thats still mostly because he wanted to trade and prove he can punch hard on the inside. If he plays it smart on the inside though, he is lethal.
Very good post, agree man. Bradley didn't pick his spots because he clearly didn't respect Provodnikov, had he shown him respect he would have fought him similar to how he fought Peterson, sadly I get the feeling Bradley got too much taken out of him that night.

As for the thread, at this point in time I'm gonna say Mayweather followed by Ward. If Hopkins was still in his prime I'd take Bernard over both Mayweather and Ward.

Used to be James Toney, now it's Floyd. Ward distant second.

No need to explain. When was the last time you seen anyone get the best of floyd on the inside?

        Also, old ass thread.
I like to make that distinction as well, I like to separate fighting in the clinches and infighting, I think this doesn't get emphasized enough but the fact of the matter is it's still in fighting. Ward is great defensively in close, but he doesn't have a great two handed attack as he is more of tying one arm up and attacking with the other, Ward is also more of a single punch kind of infighter. I would still classify Ward as a very good inside fighter, currently top 2 in my opinion.

Santa Cruz is up there. Mares too.

Floyd and Ward dominate from the outside and impact zone. Ward is good in the inside, but a bit dirty (esp with headbutts). He's similar to bradley in that regard. Floyd throws a lot of bows. I like his inside game a lot, esp. those uppercuts. However, I don't really consider him an inside fighter, since he usually avoids those situations. He only really engaged in the inside against Cotto, which is where I thought Cotto did best.
