Everyone is blaming Cotto for the catchweight. Umm hello, McFly!! No one forced Geale to take the fight when he signed the contract to fight at 157 lbs. Do you know why he agreed to it and sign the contract?! Because he wants to get PAID. Now honor the contract you signed and make the damn weight like a professional.

Cotto needs the fight much more than Geale? Wow you're some kind of special idiot. Cotto has name cache and can get practically any fight he wants. Geale is an Aussie in the twilight of his career than no one outside of Oz gives a crap about. This is the best payday Geale will get for the rest of his career. He needs Cotto and the fanfare Cotto brings a lot more than Cotto needs him.

Geale should come in at 160 **** Cotto and catchweights. He'll be pressured to fight and it'll mess with his head before stepping in the ring.

None of you seem to understand what a contract entails. The only way to get Cotto, or ANY fighter to not ask for catchweights....IS TO NOT AGREE TO THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE. Once you agree it's on YOU. Fighters who agree to catchweights do it because they're the B side and need the $ that facing an A side fighter brings. If they don't agree to it...someone else will.

Geale is going to have to have to dig deep. Will he have anything left?

Doesnt seem like him to try and manipulate the rules to not meet the catchweight. Cotto doesnt really need this fight and I wouldnt be surprised if he walks if Geale is more than a pound over.

I'm not down with the CW but he signed the fawking contract! Be a professional and make the contractual weight.
If he doesn't make weight Cotto will cancel the fight. It will give him another useless fight against a c level fighter where he can keep holding the belt hostage. Plus HBO is only showing this one fight right? Any under cards?

I hope Geale comes in at 160 and Cotto walks. Sure Geale looks bad for not making "weight", but Hotto looks like a b!tch for not defending his belt at the real weight. I don't care if you're A-side, it still doesn't mean you're above the sport.
