Pascal was at 175, plus it was years ago. To put it another way - if the fight was at 175, I'd give Hopkins a 50/50 shot to actually beat Degale because Degale isn't typically a 175 fighter so he would be at a disadvantage if it was his first fight at 175. But at 168, going down in weight so being weakened through weight-draining, Hopkins won't be the same fighter, he's got no chance against Degale at 168 IMO.

Weight-draining can have a massive impact on you and at Hopkins age, I think it's going to have a devastating impact. Just look at Dawson vs Ward for example. "Feather-fisted" Ward knocked out Dawson.
    Hopkins isnt a LHW

He's 50. You can't maintain or build muscle mass as easily at that age.

    168 is perfect for him

Where did I say he isn't great?

Just a meaningless fight from all angles.

          Says the NSB Matchroom accountant.

Why not reply to my post instead of hanging off of Jas's quote? You really want Degale in with Hopkins for his first defense in a "boxing" match? or would you want him picking apart a Kessler or Bute?
