  • Comments Thread For: Amir Khan: Not Focused on Brook, I Want Bigger Names

Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) is ready for a major name after his twelve round decision victory over Chris Algieri from last Friday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Khan is angling to secure the fight he's been chasing for the last two years, a fall showdown with WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs).

Mayweather is planning to return on September 12th, and claims that ring appearance will the final fight of his pro career. Khan has already made it clear, on national television, that his schedule has no roadblocks to face Mayweather in September.

      Like Chris the Kickboxer?

He should fight Bradley for the WBO belt if he's going to continue to avoid Brook.

If Khan does not get the Mayweather fight, he will fight Thurman in an all PBC fight. Brook can wait until next year July 2016 for a huge fight in an open roof stadium (old Trafford or Wembley). Brook and Hearn need to understand that even if Khan loses, the Brook fight will always be there.

Bradley would make him look like a fool. I've never been more convinced of anything in my life. Khan would be so uncomfortable in a fight against Bradley he'd be spending half the time looking at the ref to bail him out ... I would love that fight

Unfortunately for them, that is the truth and all parties know it. If Khan loses, Brook will still fight him, if he fights Brook first and loses alot of stuff goes away for him. He don't need the money and is probably enjoying having his ego stroked weekly by Team Brook's desperate chasing... Time for Kell Brook to start outdoing Khan in separate rings, people moaning but I think a big win against Rios this year is a nice start, Bradley or Thurman after and there's no knocking Kell Brook to be fair.

True. Bradley's style would give Khan nightmares... Bradley in top form UD's and maybe drops Khan.

Al Haymon does not play around. Look what he has done with Broner, one of his superstars, he has thrown him straight in to the deep end with Porter. Khan and Thurman will happen.
