With the announcement of tickets going on sale for his June 26 homecoming at Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. it's clear that David Price's next fight will not come against Erkan Teper or for the EBU heavyweight title - unless of course Teper has designs to travel to the Brit's backyard. Too bad this isn't going to happen. This was a prime opportunity to get back in the title picture for Price. Erkan Teper can punch but I think the Sprott & Rogan knock outs had more to do with age then Teper's power. I think this is a foolish move by Price not taking this fight. Winning the EU belt has helped several fighters get title shots in the past. I get the feeling he doesn't have his confidence back yet. That Pala guy dropped him so maybe he & his team still have doubts.Comment

So much for Price's stated belief that his four fight rehab run since the Thompson double disaster has turned him into a better, more focused and mature fighter than before. The Teper fight would have been for the European heavyweight title and pushed the winner into the world conversation but Price (or is it his team) blanks that opportunity and sticks instead to the 'homecoming' plan which will feature, for sure, a dud in the opposite corner. Sad. Very sad.Comment
