Comments Thread For: David Price Homecoming Kills Plans For Teper Showodwn

With the announcement of tickets going on sale for his June 26 homecoming at Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. it's clear that David Price's next fight will not come against Erkan Teper or for the EBU heavyweight title - unless of course Teper has designs to travel to the Brit's backyard. I don't get why he can't fight Teper for his "homecoming?" Too big a risk?

Too bad this isn't going to happen. This was a prime opportunity to get back in the title picture for Price. Erkan Teper can punch but I think the Sprott & Rogan knock outs had more to do with age then Teper's power. I think this is a foolish move by Price not taking this fight. Winning the EU belt has helped several fighters get title shots in the past. I get the feeling he doesn't have his confidence back yet. That Pala guy dropped him so maybe he & his team still have doubts.

Teper's promoter won the purse bid, and wants to have the fight in Germany.

price has been such a waste, if only his stamina matched his power.

Hopefully there is a good heavyweight out there who keeps himself in shape at all time and trains fairly often, who'll be ready for Price.

                Otherwise just a bum.

So much for Price's stated belief that his four fight rehab run since the Thompson double disaster has turned him into a better, more focused and mature fighter than before. The Teper fight would have been for the European heavyweight title and pushed the winner into the world conversation but Price (or is it his team) blanks that opportunity and sticks instead to the 'homecoming' plan which will feature, for sure, a dud in the opposite corner. Sad. Very sad.

I don't think he has a problem with his heart, he rematched TT after getting KOd and almost knocked him out but then faded so badly and so suddenly, it was wlad-esue. Maybe he should get in touch with him and ask how he changed.
