Virgil is just a realist - no one is a favorite against Mayweather and Hunter knows that. Khan will have to put on a virtuoso performance against Floyd but he has the tools to pull off the upset if the stars align for him on that night. And of course, Floyd has the tools to beat Khan too.

This could very well be the fight of the decade in September,

Now explain to me how khan without power to hurt a fly or the skills to run mayweather into something is gonna "Buster Douglas" him? makes no sense.
That's not necessarily true, Khan doesn't need a great deal of activity because Mayweather himself isn't a very active boxer. What he needs is patience and timing, then short, controlled bursts of aggression when he sees openings - that's pretty much what he's already been doing in his last 3 fights.

That is the stark verdict of trainer Virgil Hunter, who reckons the Brit will need to eclipse Buster Douglas' stunning win over Mike Tyson 25 years ago if he wants to pick the pockets of the Moneyman.

Khan, 28, survived more than a few dodgy moments in the Big Apple as home favourite Chris Algieri came roaring out of the blocks to stun him in the very first round.

The native New Yorker fancied his chances and caused plenty of problems yet, while his punches rocked the two-time champ, the boy from Bolton's lightning-fast combinations ultimately sealed the deal.

Is it just me or is Khan slower at welterweight. And his defense sucks, he gets hit with the right to much. Algeri has no power otherwise some of the big shots he landed would have knocked Khan out. Khan won the fight. He won more rounds

No fight involving Floyd will be a fight of the decade. Mayweather vs Pacquiao was the disappointment of the decade

Khan has never been a big puncher but at least he was hurting dudes before. Now he can't even faze Chris algieri while still getting hit and hurt with the same punches.

Khan seems to not have anything on his punches now. Mayweather would probably walk khan down and KO him. To be honest Khan was better with roach because his physical attributes were being maximized.

Khan is who he is Hunter is trying to make khan something he is not. He is making khan think twice making him easier to time. Khan is lucky he hasn't fought a puncher in a while now.

                Hunter knows the deal.

He's been working with Khan for a long time now and he still makes the same mistakes and has the same flaws. Wide open to counters, no idea how to avoid a left hook, sucker for a straight right...He's got no chance.

Floyd would school Khan no matter what the circumstances, so as I see it there is no reason for him to fight Khan. Khan embarrassed himself in the Algieri fight to the extent that I now believe that he's three - that's three and not two - levels beneath Floyd Mayweather. One consolation is that if the fight is made, I will get to laugh aloud at Khan's antics in trying to cope with the shellacking Floyd administers to him. Maybe Floyd will don boxing trunks sporting a large milk bottle emblem having skinny little arms wearing boxing gloves at which Amir can direct his low blows in his complete and utter frustration.

It is not just you; you have hit the nail on the head - dead center - although I will say that he barely won the fight.

Fight of the decade? You did see Khan in full retreat against Chris Algieri right? ? Khan is the one of the easiest realistic options that Floyd has.
