  • Comments Thread For: Lee Selby Dominates Gradovich, Captures IBF Crown

O2 Arena, London - Lee Selby (21-1, 8KOs) put on the performance of his career, with a eight round technical decision over previously undefeated Evgeny Gradovich (19-1-1, 9KOs) to capture the IBF featherweight championship. The scores were 79-73, 80-72 and 79-73.

Selby was putting on a master class boxing lesson the early rounds, using movement and picking off Gradovich as he came inside. Gradovich was coming forward, throwing a lot of shots and making the fight continue at a very high pace. [Click Here To Read More]

No! Look at the scores. Dominated.

Gradovich could not even get close to unload, no ring-cutting ability - just looking for one big punch yet showing no capacity to deliver it. This one is not going to a rematch. Walters, Lomo and Russell can wait - Mares would be a good next step.

BS stoppage and BS scorecards Gradovich, they were screaming for the stoppage before the cut even existed lol.

Was just a shamefully and blatant display of once again the corrupt British boxing.

"The only reason he's not ranked no.1 is because he hasn't fought Lomachenko, Walters and Russell!"

lmfao, that was the line of the night for me.

What were you watching? Plus the judges not all British. I'll be looking for the compubox stats - Gradovich showed NO effective aggression. Useless stalking and a low connect % as most of his shots missed.

They did mention that there was an American and a Canadian judge.

I've always felt that Gradovich was just keeping the belt warm for a really good fighter to come take it over. Shelby should go for unification

Some people take more pleasure from gossip and speculation than the actual fights. Why can't you take a pause and actually comment on th efight at hand. Life happens in the present not the past or the future.
If you didn't get to see the fight there's always such a thing as asking somebody who did see it how the fight unfolded.

For the record - Selby showed very good lateral movement and took Gradovich's shots well but Gradovich looked limited. This may be the high point in Selby's career as I think Russell does everything Selby does except better, Walters has too much power and Loma looks to be a once in 50 year phenomonen at this point in time.

To me it seemed Selby took too many hits for a supposed "Welsh Mayweather". It's my first time watching him and he looked like next weakest champion of feather-weight division after beating Gradovich.
