Well, can we? Mares and Angulo looked WORSE under him, and Khan failed to impress last night.

Big picture dude. He took broken fighters coming off Ls and tried to rebuild them.

I think taking Andre Ward from junior champ, to Olympic Gold Medalist, to world champ to lineal champ to fighter of the year to #2 pound for pound is a better indication of his abilities.

Great trainers build champions from scratch and Virgil did that

Can we safely say, no trainer can really fix Khan?

I wouldn't say that because it's far from the truth. The man trains fighters to not take unnecessary risk and that's exactly what we saw from Khan last night, very different from the Khan in the junior welterweight division. Hunter is far from the greatest all around trainer but their are non. Hunter is trying to turn pure offensive fighters into fighters with an all around skill set that utilizes their offense more effectively

He sucks, overrated, pretentious. Abel sanchez, JDJ, and Joel Diaz are better trainers imo.

No, he's just being hired by guys who don't mesh well with his style. He has trained Ward since Ward was a kid, and is highly responsible for the fighter he has become. That can't be dismissed.

Mares, Khan, and Angulo all need a trainer that focuses on their offensive gifts. Mares is the only one who looks worse, the other two look the same.

Khan's weaknesses are hard to fix, his chin is weak and this can't be fixed and he kinda fights like an amateur, his mentality is to put as much leather on you as possible without having a long term strategy in the fight, and that u can't do against elite opposition, but he's been relatively successful with it that's why it's hard to change it.
Hunter taught him not to be reckless and how to tie his opponent up effectively, which is a safety measure that he definitely needed, what they still need to work on is to sit down more on the punches and to counter more effectively, he had tons of opportunities last night against Algieri to counter and he didn't do it as often as he should've.
He's still a good fighter but once u put him in there with a puncher that can punch in between his flurries and time him it's lights out for him, and it's not easy to change that.

I say yes, every fighter he trained have took their worse beating under his guidence lol

berto got beat down, mares got stopped, angulo got slaughtered and became a quitter, khan is steady going down hill.

Andre ward would have been great no matter who trained him.,

                    Hunters been good for Khan

I saw Khan throwing the uppercut, fighting on the inside

He was calm and didnt panic when he was caught with a solid right hand

Algieri came in there with nothing to lose, all the pressure was on Khan, with the Floyd carrot dangling over him.

Khan still needs to work on dealing with pressure fighters, which i dont think he will ever truly master, he's a type of boxer who needs room to work.

Khan also had the same problems with pressure fighters under Roach.

Hunter is a good look for Khan imo

Khan is taking a hell of a lot less punishment than he was under Roach
