So I was assuming GGG must have had some pretty big wins over the last 18 months.... what's this.... Martin Murray?

All I'm seeing is he's beaten up a bunch of average middleweights, great.

Don't get me wrong he's a very solid fighter but I need to see this guy step up and fight these top level 168lb fighters before I declare him elite. Hell I want to see him against an AVERAGE 168lb fighter.

Let's not forget, and it does get revised now but a few years ago Arthur Abraham had this reputation as a killer who was going to ktfo all these guys at super middle. When he went up he was too small. Arthur Abraham is bigger than golovkin.

Let's be real here. Sakio Bika would be the best opponent GGG has fought if that fight was made. Can you imagine Bika against Martin Murray, Murray would get bludgeoned

I'm not getting carried away with GGG
You do realize that Golovkin is a MIDDLEWEIGHT? NOT a SMW? Should we start measuring every SMW against Kovalev, Beterbiev and Stevenson? Has anyone claimed that GGG was anything other than a MW with the goal to unify all the titles in the MW division?

IF the only thing you have to say about him is that he is not the best SMW out there, that is quite obvious as he is NOT a SMW. Maybe you should take a look at the 6 or 7 fights GGG has had over the last 18 months you have been away from the sport before opening your mouth to judge him. While you are at it, you can compare them to all the fights Ward has had over that same period of time.

If you find the guys Golovkin beat are average. Then I suppose Quillen, Lee, Lemeiux and Ndam are average to you too. Golovkin would be the favourite against all of these guys. Let this dude unify before moving up. And if he loses to one of those middleweight then he was overhyped.

I am a Golovkin fan but I also think he still needs to prove himself by moving up. I view Golovkin vs Froch as fifty fifty fight. Froch is 38, had a long successful career and he's battleworn. Also his defense is crap.

Bika is tougher than all those guys combined.
When I read this post, I had the same reaction that Deion Sanders had in this video.

No one really knows how he will translate to 168 pounds. He seems perfectly built for middleweight. Doesn't mean he sucks if he can't be the same beast at 168 though. Guys at 168 typically cut a lot of weight, a lot of guys walking around naturally at 190+.

It just sucks for him there isn't anyone on his level at 160.

Froch says he's seven pounds away from making the weight.
