I just felt that, although Kessler has some very good achievements at 168, he can't match the explosiveness of Benn or the overall quality of Jones, if they ever went h2h, I'd favour both guys over Kessler, possibly even by stoppage.

My criteria includes achievements, h2h, quality of opposition faced, skills, speed, power, aggression, titles, title reign(s), all those things.

Kessler scores highly in some of those categories, kinda low in a few others, it's what separates him from the other two guys (RJJ and Benn). But it's not a huge difference.

My reasoning is that yes, h2h Ward is better but he falls behind in almost every other category (resume, titles, reign). I still believe there should have been a rematch, it was a very good win for Ward but he got clocked well in the last 3 rounds and Froch really pushed him in the championship distance.

Plus Froch seemed rejuvenated from Bute, Mack to Kessler II. That version would have given Ward an even better fight.

Ward can still claim that 3rd place if he achieves more in the division.

Titles? Has Froch ever been the lineal champion? No. Has Ward? Yes, still is. Has Froch ever unified the division (WBA regular titles don't count)? No. Has Ward? Yes.

Resume? Ward has Froch. Froch doesn't have Ward. Ward has Kessler. Froch lost to Kessler. Won the rematch but not as convincingly as Ward beat him. Pascal and Bute are good wins. Ward has Bika and Dawson.
