Good. Now let's hope Cotto crushes Geale and no injury occurs.

Cotto knows that Canelo is gonna start that mexican date crap knowing full well floyd is going to fight his last fight that day.

It makes no business sense for Cotto to fight and compete for a "mexcian date" that he cares nothing about.

Can you point me to the article where they talk about GGG accepting money to step aside? I have yet to see one. In fact, Loeffler made it quite clear in the presser after the Monroe fight that for Golovkin to step aside, he will require a signed contract to fight the winner of the fight, along with other considerations. This was also repeated by Sulaiman.

By the way... if Eater of Ass is wondering why I do not reply to him, it is because he is on my ignore list and I no longer have to read the crap he posts.

Taking step aside money would be sensible because I don't think the WBC will enforce their mandatory, so that money would be the only profit GGG is ever going to make out of Cotto.

Cotto won't fight him, under any circumstances, and I'm sure GGG knows that.
According to what was stated after the Monroe fight, they intend to force the WBC to strip the title before the Canelo fight unless there is a signed agreement that Golovkin fights the winner.

For those who missed the presser, here it is. The pertinent part starts at about the 13 minute mark.

it's really not a bad fight. my issue is that it will be for the MW champioship of the world, and neither guy is a MW.

well, alvarez is technically a MW, he's just doing it at a catchweight and fighting JMW.

canelo on points. i expect cotto to try and box, and lose the rounds because of canelo's eye-catching offense and power.

                  what's he going to do?

trade shots with a bigger, harder puncher?

cotto's a good boxer. he was a butter smooth boxer in the amateurs and early in his pro career. at some point, people convinced him he should be coming forward and looking for the left hook to the liver. it got him hit and rocked quite a bit at 140.

he uses the ring well, and has always had some fo the best timing in boxing with his jab and counter left hook.
