What a crock of sh**. Geale is going to kick Cotto's backside, so Cotto and Canelo can fight and GGG can finally get his hands on the WBC middleweight belt in a rematch with Geale. That's how I see it playing out.Comment

"But... Cotto is scared of the 155lb beat doe"
Cotto is going to once again, show you kids the subtle differences in this thing called levels.
Cotto is going to pick Canelo apart over the course of 5-6 rounds. The experience and superior boxing will make the difference. It will then become ALL cotto to the end of the fight. Sharp shooting and a lot of peasant tears.

The last thing GGG fans want to hear is he has to move up in weight. His body can make 160 so it's fine to pick on guys moving up 3 and 4 weightclasses. Now, I understand that since they moved up they should fight him but that doesn't mean GGG should be admired like he is for picking on obviously smaller fighters.Which elite fighters don't want to get in the ring with him? When Cotto fought prime elite fighters at WW, he was fighting guys in his weight class, guys who were dangerous, big, could take a punch and were ducked. To get these type of fights, GGG needs to move up to 168 like Cotto moved up to 147. There are no prime dangerous elite fighters at 160, and if you think JMW's coming up in weight counts as dangerous fights against prime fighters you are clearly not getting the point. Froch is a good start, once he gets his ass beaten by Froch, he will see what Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto, Hopkins, Marquez sacrificed to go up in weight and fight bigger, stronger men. Let's see if he can pass that test that the active greats went through.
The haters in one breath say Canelo and Cotto aren't real MW's yet, GGG is supposed to be legitimized by these wins. Apparently, beating just about everyone at MW didn't legitimize his reign, it's all smoke and mirrors until he beats a former JWW and WW. I'm a GGG fan but like you I want to see him tested, not feasting on small guys and weak competition. As boxing fans this is what we should want to see, instead people want to see 2 round KO's and think that's somehow better for the sport. Yes it makes for hype and a "big fight" but so were a lot of Tyson fights and Floyd and Manny mismatches I didn't watch those either. (Ortiz, Guerrero, Baldomir, Gatti) I can go on and on about mismatches that aren't worth my time of day. GGG cannot be held to that same standard.Last edited by Beater_of_ass; 05-26-2015, 06:13 PM.Comment

A guy who has pretty much lost in every huge fight he's been in...is going to win the biggest fight (outside of Mayweather) to date? Yeah ok bud. Canelo is going to Kirkland cotto. Book it."But... Cotto is scared of the 155lb beat doe"

I have already stated in the past, that this was a bad move by Cotto, indefensible.
Cotto is not my fighter. If he loses to Geale it's too bad, I want to see Canelo get the win. However, it is so false that Cotto is a p*ssy. He's far from it. He's not my fighter, he's not a favorite of mine, but the guy has proved himself already.
Which elite fighters don't want to get in the ring with him? When Cotto fought prime elite fighters at WW, he was fighting guys in his weight class, guys who were dangerous, big, could take a punch and were ducked. To get these type of fights, GGG needs to move up to 168 like Cotto moved up to 147. So by your way of thinking, GGG must pay the price for being born as a natural middleweight and never get proper recognition because there is no other middleweight around at this moment to challenge him? And this is HIS fault? Yes, we all know that other fighters have moved up in weight divisions and if GGG had started his pro career as a WW, he would have moved up as well. But he did not. He started his pro career when his body had already reached it's natural maturity and his natural size.
Now I would like you to tell us all who exactly are these elite fighters at SMW who will challenge GGG so he can prove his quality as a fighter. The Dirrells? Chavez Jr.? The retired Kessler? The about to retire Froch who can't get his ass off the fence and if he is defeated by GGG will be dismissed as being over the hill? Perhaps DeGale or Groves? Neither of whom would be much competition or can be considered to be elite fighters. Maybe Abraham or Sturm, both of whom spent years ducking GGG in Germany?
So c'mon... give us some names of those amazing, elite fighters who are waiting for him at SMW! Oh I have it! WARD!! The guy who cannot even make 168 and needs at least two tune ups before even considering a GGG fight!
Yeah. Give us all a break and let GGG run his own career. I have a feeling that he and his team know what they are doing a hell of a lot better than any of us here do.Comment
