The bigger the purses for the fighters, the more Haymon cashes in. By the time the $475 million runs out, he will have padded his personal fortune to the tune of around $50-75 million.

And some people actually are ****** enough to think he is doing this for the love of the sport!
Do you think Bob Arum or Oscar De La Hoya or Kathy Duva are doing it for the love of the sport? Are you ****** enough to think that Arum is trying to please you by giving you fights such as Bradley/Vargas? Haymon is getting fighters more exposure and bigger purses than promoters like Arum and Duva, who take just as much from a fighters purse. Also, we are seeing good quality matchups. So everyone -- Haymon, the fighters and fans -- are benefitting from what Haymon is doing.

Who the hell benefitted from Pacquaio/Algieri or Pacquaio/Rios? It damn sure wasn't the fans, so you have no business complaining about Haymon as long as he is giving us quality fights.

That means chopping the purses they are giving out from around $3.5 million + total to about $300 thousand total. And doing that would mean a drastic drop in the quality of fighter being showcased which would result in a drop in viewers.

My view is that once the investment money is gone, so will the PBC be.
As I said I don't know how that business side of boxing and TV ratings work nor do I care. I don't see one cent of it. I'll leave that to you guys to debate.

All I know is last pbc was enjoyable. Dirrell/Degale had me hooked. Hope there is more.

I've never claimed that ANYONE in boxing, whether promoter or manager or advisor or fighter is doing anything for the benefit of anyone other than themselves of their team and family.

As for Haymon, his supporters claim that he doing all this for the good of boxing and for the fighters. They claim him as the saviour of boxing, the man who will bring the sport back to number one status of all sports in the US. Maybe you should be talking to them.

As for quality fights... I am still waiting for them. So far I have seen only about three of all the fights shown that I thought were quality fights. The rest would barely be FNF quality or early undercard on HBO or Showtime quality.

One of the best fights pbc has had to offer so far!

I think that pbc would be better served if they had 2 time slots. Sundays at 1pm and saturdays at 5pm. It takes confusion away from people, which i think is cause for some of the dip in ratings.

Cong**** to Chunky! If he hadnt took his foot off the gas in a few of those mid rounds, he mightve got a possible ko, if not a WIDE UD. Either way, Dirrel wouldve said he won regardless lol

More bad ratings from PBC. What is pathetic is Hymon sycophants will make excuses for it as they have made for every Haymon card so far. For example, its a holiday weekend, it was up against a college basketball game, and it had to compete against blah blah blah. What Haymon lovers fail to see is that there is always gonna be something else to watch! And Haymon needs to be able to compete and beat these other programs. And so far, 3 months and several shows later, the PBC has shown it cannot beat the other programs and thus no new advertising has come to PBC since it started in March. This is not what Haymon lovers want to admit. The ratings this past Sat are just plain horrible and there is no way to spin them.

Also, the problem with Haymon is he may know how to sign talent, and raise money, but he has 0 taste and 0 creative abilities and these bad attributes plus his dictatorial micro-managing habits build up to a bad product that the PBC is. His lack of creative talents have shown with the very bad production values of PBC boxing events. These include terrible fight commentary by dinosaurs, bland gladiator music that the program uses (its like a bad Best of the Best movie), and the pathetic fighter intro's that even the fighters seem very uncomfortable with. Haymon is just throwing **** on the wall and hoping something sticks. A good example is the very dated 360 cam that PBC has hyped. The 360 cam replay is laughable and maybe it would of been great technology 20 yrs ago, but it just shows Haymon's bad taste and bad judgement when it comes to creating a boxing product to show on tv. He just does not have a clue.

His downfall is imminent. He is spending money like he has his own printing press and the lawsuit that was filed against him has merit. He is trying to choke out the competition. The FOX1 sports news that has just come out about them dropping Golden Boy for Haymon is a good example of this. He is trying to lock out any boxing promoters from being on tv. There is no good reason for him to be buying time on all these networks other than to quash the competition. I believe he will lose the suit. He has flouted the law in open view thinking no one would challenge him. But now things are starting to go bad for him and his venture. Bad ratings, his fighters are losing, boring fights, and lawsuits. For him to save this he would have to have a Gatti-Ward type fight on prime time, but he does not have those type of fighters. He spent all is money on Mayweather type fighters who are ratings killers. The Dirrell brothers, Charlo brohers, Peter Quillen, Malignaggi, Jacobs, and many more. Plus fighters who have huge egos, but don't really like to fight. These type of fighters are not what you need in order to make a hugely successful product that has the public clamering for. They are boring and the the ratings have reflected this fact.

So 900k Americans now know who James DeGale is. About 3 knew of him before this fight.

Boxing fans in the UK got to watch him winning his first title in prime time locally...and not at 4am, or the next morning like they usually have to do.

All I can say is that 900k Americans aren't going to sit in front of their computers and stream a James DeGale fight, or Ricky Burns, or JAmie McDonnell, or Beterbiev. Having the foreign fighters in this time slot is a good approach to introducing American fans to good world talent, while also allowing UK audiences to watch the fight at a better time. It seems like a practical idea.

I didn't think it would do great but why the hell wouldn't they at least have the fight somewhere it would make money ?
Boston? Who thought of that for Christ sake.
They probably could have sold 20,000 tickets in England somewhere if Haymon was smart he would at least capitalize on the popularity of some of these guys in their hometowns.
Broner vs Porter should be in Ohio somewhere instead of Vegas as well. They'll be handing those tickets out on the street.

The middle of the day on a three day weekend... That sounds like ratings would equal ****. The problem with Haymon is he should not book on these dates like a dumbas$.

These threads oughta get bookmarked. New year, same delusion. Feel free to join reality at anytime. A world where the Showtime-Mayweather deal wasn't an epic flop. Where Stephen Espinoza didn't get canned. Where Oscar didn't sink the Haymon Naval Base. He needs to worry about his own sinking ship instead of this new silly lawsuit. And of course, some of you actually believe this second case might finish Haymon for good smh. In the real world, Haymon has a 20yr proven track record in boxing. And has now secured the biggest TV deal the sport has ever seen to go along with an astounding roster of fighters. The schedule seems to be loaded with fights everywhere. Just why as a boxing fan are you complaining?
