Floyd is leading the pack right now..

Wins over canelo and manny trumps anyone on the list

    Manny beating Bradley,marquez

Ward, canelo, GGG, kovolev needs some more big wins

Wilder is a darkhorse if he can beat Povetkin, Wlad, fury, Joshua by 2020

Boxing will never die, but if Danny Garcia is ever fighter of the decade, I'm afraid the end will be near.

Impossible to say but maybe Inoue or Gonzalez. Outside shot for Kovalev.

Pacquiao, Mayweather, Froch etc will all retire too early.

Mayweather has a noticeable lead. Just glancing at the present boxers, I don't think those around have what it takes to close the gap in the next five years.

4 more years to go. If only Floyd can just keep fighting until 2019, he'd win it. He has it so far, but one year of a break would make him lose out on it. Apparently that's what happened in the 2000s, he didn't fight in 2008 and the journalists didn't give it to him. They just wanted him to slip up once to give it to a more beloved fighter. Floyd would be 42 years old if he fought until the end of this decade, which I don't see him doing. I think it will be a difficult decision for him to even come back for a 50th fight.

But yeah, this decade no one has been as impressive as Floyd. Not many good wins to go around. Someone will have to take over after Floyd leaves, have a good 4 year run until the decade ends. Probably Canelo has a good chance. If he beats Cotto and GGG he would be unstoppable. He'd put himself in position to win it.

FOTD isn't just about boxing ability nor popularity but accomplishments.

pac fought the better guys. simple as.

retiring is one reason. not the only reason.

                      I do think in order

                      Gonzalez, Inouye and Canelo

Gonzalez has been impressive so far - he's legit. He takes out Estrada again and continues to wreck the competition, I have no doubts the next four years he remains on the p4p list. Inoue also has what it takes to really just take over the sport. He's young and hungry and has shown tremendous prospects. You can't discount Canelo either, the next four years will be key - if he beats Cotto and GGG, he'd have a great lead, with wins over Trout and Lara. As long as he continues to fight the top guys, you can't argue with that. Dark horse mention has to be Vasyl - he has the goods

All this also is under the impression that Floyd does in fact retire after 49-0. If he did fight post 49-0 then he'd have to be a shoe-in
