I don't think this trend is real. There are still plenty of aggressive fighters, both good and bad.

The only thing I object to is people casting out-fighting as the pinnacle of the sport. Just like some boxers don't have the power or the chin to be aggressive fighters, some don't have the athleticism and natural handspeed needed to be out-fighters.

Just because you're an out-fighter, it doesn't mean you're technically superior to guys who fight in the pocket. Amir Khan is a case in point.
Right on. Boxers were not born with the same/similar physical attributes and/or talents. Use your GOD given talents and skills to win. If you are fast and strong enough to KO your opponents, fight like Pac. If not, fight like May.
And if you are like Pac and fighting the likes of May, learn to cut the ring, trap him then unleash your vaunted firepower "coming from different angles". Do not wait or expect your opponent to just stand in front of you. If you can't and you loss, that's on you. Don't blame your opponent.

Look i dont care if i sound like Rockin and Roger mayweather rolled into one here, but most folks, especially 99% of this forum, dont know **** about boxing, and the only fans that respect the sport and the fighters have stepped in the ring themselves.

You keyboard warriors dont know **** about what it is to be a fighter. To train your ass off, make sacrifices, get in there and fight another man in front of a crowd, you're a bunch of cowards who tap away at a keyboard, b*tching about men who fight for a living to entertain piece of **** like you.

Health comes first in boxing. People should not be able to hit each other. Only then wilth the likes of Ali and SRR type dementias will be eradicated from the sport.

Willie Pep, Benitez, Whitaker...they stayed within range but still avoided shots. The problem is the running, clinching, turning your back, going for a stroll. Floyd, Lara, Rigondeaux, Algieri, Sugar Ray in Duran II. And the very fans defending this style is the reason boxing is fading. There is a market out there for this style, and the style wins fights, so we see more and more of it out there. Somebody was trying to be smart by saying "oh yeah, let's just have 2 guys stand there and punch their brains out." Guess what "boxing" is? It's exactly that, you fool! The slickness is supposed to be to get in position to deliver your shots while avoiding your opponents. Avoiding the fight is NOT boxing!

Oh my damn. Where do I even begin with this? The guy listed 3 fighters who are masters of range control and said that they "always stayed in range".
He then proceeds to list 4 fighters out of a trillion to demonstrate how every boxer has a running style. After that he blames this for the demise of the sport, whilst ignoring the fact that boxing has been declining in popularity long before Floyd Mayweather. Then he concludes by insulting the sweet science by calling it 2 guys standing there and punching their brains out. Totally disrespecting the thousands of boxers that have suffered brain damage for his entertainment.

First of all, boxing is far from dead Floyd, Pac and Wlad are among the highest paid athletes in the world.

But that's another topic for another day. Let's address the elephant in the room.

This isn't about boxing. This is about Floyd beating Pac and you being butthurt about it. One of those " change the rules so my favorite fighter can be the best" rants.

Amen bro. If only Pac won, there would be no "hugging, running" comments. Unfortunately, he lost so ...

OP the nice thing i like about boxing IS the different styles in the sport , it helps the diversity of the fights and makes it more intresting to me , if you dont like Floyd , you can stop watching him , I am not his fan , not even close , but when i watch his fights there is something to admire , just hear other boxers talk about him like he is the Michael jordan of boxing , not fans , boxers.

As in Soccer , we have the Morinou teams of the world and we have the barcelona`s , both have success and both play soccer within the rules , is barcelone more eye catching and fan friendly - sure , is chelese a great team , you bet your ass.
