Comments Thread For: O'Connor Shifts Focus Back To Paulie Malignaggi

BOSTON, Agganis Arena - Framingham's Danny O'Connor (26-2, 10 KOs) was determined to put on a show close to home and he delivered in a big way, stopping Chris Gilbert (13-2, 10 KOs) in the fifth round. O'Connor knocked Gilbert down in rounds two and three before getting the stoppage in round five.

O'Connor was originally set to face former two division world champion Paulie Malignaggi on next Saturday's Amir Khan-Chris Algieri undercard. After Malignaggi suffered a cut in sparring, that fight was pushed back.

Paulie is the biggest loser in boxing. He is a loud mouth Italian guy who was never any good. He just talked and talked and talked! Whenever he had a big fight he got smoked. Now to make matters worse he is being paid off by Haymon to be Floyd's cheerleader. This guy is so unprofessional there is no way (because of his sheer hatred towards the Pacman) he should have been in any way shape or form part of the fight of the century. I am certain that Haymon paid him off to fake a cut and postpone the fight to show the viewers on what Manny should have done with his shoulder injury. This guy is easily bought remember he was bad mouthing Haymon and then Haymon smart guy that he is hmmm how can I use that loud talking Italian guy to benefit my company. Hmmmmm why don't I give him some extra money to turn Floyd into a God and turn Manny into a roided out WWE wrestling superstar with no skills and integrity. Man hope this guy just goes home and talks to his buddies in the local pizza shop. This guys gotta go already!

Yeah Paulie is definitely a hypocrite I too remember the lead in for the Broner fight where he was killing Haymon and the years prior how he said he was what is killing boxing. Then the first chance he got to sign with Haymon he jumped on it and now he works for him calls fights for him and defends him at every turn. Listening to him now compared to just 2 years ago it's laughable how big a fraud he is.

A massively relevant fight. A battle for the ages.

I can't figure out why Paulie has to resort to trash talking publicly in order to gain attention, when he can just let his fists do the talking in FOTY candidates like this one.
