Pbc is awful

I feel what you're saying but I feel calling it "Trash" is a bit extreme. I agree with you that the ring entrances fail to build suspense but on the flip side I understand that time is a big issue on network TV. They have a time slot and they can't go one second over so they rather use the air time for fighting rather than extravagant ring entrances. As far as the ring card girls I feel like premium cable don't really show them much either. I think not having ring card girls more effects the fans watching live at the arena appose to the viewers at home. When I'm at the fights I can't take my eyes off them so I missed them way more when I was at the Garcia/ Peterson fight. lolit was complete and utter trash. ring entrances build hype, ring girls are awesome tradition and they cant even sort out the speaker when the decision is being announced. terrible stuff + we cant hear what is going on in between rounds in the corners.
horrible production value but at the end of the day the fight is what matters most
I think the fights have been entertaining, definitely not FOTY caliber but entertaining. PBC is obviously something different from the norm but I'm cool with it since we still get our traditional approach to boxing from SHO and HBO. I'm OK with something different being added to the mix.Last edited by dre23000; 05-23-2015, 06:13 PM.Comment

When they mute the sound in order to censor bad language it annoys me. That part of the production could use some work.
But this was one of the more entertaining fights so far this year in boxing. I was left satisfied on that account.Comment

as long as they can pick their own entrance music i don't have a problem with it that much. that pbc music they used on the first couple shows was garbage though. let the fighters have their music play for their entrances. sugar ray wasn't terrible today but he was sure on something for the danny garcia fight. his commentary was completely off there.Comment

I think they have to because of pressure from people who don't want to hear it on national tv- like a mom who's kid turned it on on national tv.
They are just playing it safe. Remember it's not cable, and sponsors can and do pull the plug if something is offensive to their consumers.Comment

Exactly.
3 weeks ago you got all the pageantry, pomp, and circumstance that the 2 premium boxing networks could offer for the Mayweather/Pacquiao 'boxing event', and all folks did was ***** (falsely) about 'no action'.
Some folks refused to be pleased, I guess.

They've had some good fights and some lousy ones, just like any other platform. The production could be better and I understand people's complaints but really all I care about is the fight. I don't care about ring walks, entourages, announcers, etc. It's boxing. This is no worse than suffering through Jim lampley and his ramblings. I tune out most commentators.Comment

After the Janet Jackson 'Nipplegate' thing a few years ago, the FCC cracked down with heavy fines on language and other such slips for live events.Comment
