      • So the guy with no future now is Wilder... whilst Povetkin's is bright and sunny. Pov knows he can at least go 12 with Wlad, and Wilder isn't stopping him now way. But then Wilder has to get thru Pov without being demolished (no easy feat), THEN he has to do the same vs Wlad.

What's the odds of that happening?

        HA!

        • The great thing is, Wilder will be forced to travel.

          Povetkin vs. Wilder in Moscow!

          War Alexander!

          • Perez is a fat bum but a brilliant performance by Povetkin. Clearly the #2 HW behind Wlad.

With the win, Povetkin is now the mandatory challenger to unbeaten heavyweight titlist Deontay Wilder.

If ( and this is a big if) Povetkin can get to the inside of Wilders long reach he could knock out Wilder.
Povetkin has the better skills. Just a matter of getting by that long reach and powerful right of Wilder because Wilder chin is suppect.

The ref waived the fight off before Perez hit the canvas for the second time. He didn't assess his condition and give Perez a chance to demonstrate he could or could not continue.

I think it was a bad call
I understand - but is that better than getting beaten up and lose to people he would have been competitive with, had he not suffered a little bit of mental damage - in his own words - after the mago fight.

Boxing is a really dangerous sport if you're not in it 100%. I'd like to see him do well and keep going, but for his own sake I think he should seriously consider where he's at. He was rocked by a Povetkin jab ffs. The first punch that landed. That's not a guy that needs to be in boxing.

Wilder has traveled before? I don't see that being an issue.

But why do you think he'll be forced? With Al Haymon as his manager, I don't think they'll be forced to anything.

Haymon would have to sweet talk the WBC and Povetkin's promoter.
He is capable of it but if it goes to purse bid the big russian money will call the shots.
