I'm guessing that the decision will be primarily about what benefits Haymon rather than Wilder. Wilder probably has the potential to be Haymon's biggest star seeing as he is a heavyweight with a good amount of charisma.

Wilder will be a fool if he turns down a huge payday versus Povetkin. Even if Haymon try to stop the fight still force it.

Haymon is gonna benefit no matter what.

There's so much more risk in letting Wilder coast and possibly getting upset later.

If Wilder were to win in russia, we are talking more money than ever for him.

I hope they see it that way ....

And if Haymon doesn't want to let him go to Russia, what else can he do to keep the WBC belt?

                  Now, I remember.

But yeah the real cash will flow now, Povetkin-Wlad style!

Wilder has a chance to show us everything he talked about after beating Stiverne.

If Wilder took a big money fight with Povetkin in Russia then Haymon would get his 15% cut but it would still be quite a risk, a lot harder to build him up as some legitimate heavyweight champion to the American audiences if he has been defeated by a Russian. If you look at Haymon's vast stable who can actually be this massive crossover star besides Wilder? Look at Wilder's first defence, it doesn't look to me like Haymon will take any risks, at least not any time soon. I hope i'm wrong though, Wilder-Povetkin is a good match-up.
