You're just as dense as he is. I'll spell it out one last time...
How the **** did Mayweather bring Alvarez down to 152 knowing he had issues making 154 when he showed no signs of a struggle in any of the previous fights?
If you don't have an answer, I'd suggest you STFU.
Man, you have issues.
Floyd's side was to drain Canelo as much as they can. They even tried to bring Canelo down to 147.
Here is what Canelo and Ellerbe said.
"I'll tell you the truth of what happened," Alvarez said in Spanish through translator Eric Gomez. "Why would I give up the weight? I'm at 154. I'm the 154-pound champion.
"I wouldn't do that. But when the (fight) negotiations started, they wanted me to go to 147. I said that's physically impossible. I couldn't do it. Then they inched up to 150. I said I can't do it, that's impossible. Those days are over. I can't make that weight anymore, I've grown.
"Then they went up to 151. And then finally, so we could make the fight, I said, 'If anything, I'll give up two pounds. I'll go up to 152. I agreed to that. Then they tried to force me to be quiet and not to mention anything that they came up with the weight of 152. And that's why ... I haven't said anything until now.
Ellerbe "We just took advantage of a situation. It's no different from basketball, football or baseball," he said. "You're always going to put your opposition at a disadvantage, if you can. You break 'em down and you go in for the kill.
"The kid suggested a while ago that he would be willing to come down to fight Floyd at 150. So if he put it out there ... this is business at the end of the day, and we're going to hold his feet to the fire, and his manager the same way."
The truth is, some Floyd fans that I responded to are using opposite theories and both believe that they are right and think that I am wrong. It is just too funny, if you care to actually read what is being said.
That's all well and good, and yes boxing can be subjective, but no matter how much you dislike a particular fighter, denying what they have actually done on more than one occasion because you didn't take the time to educate yourself is ignorance. Performances against Corrales and Gatti were masterclasses no matter how subjective you want to get. If you can't acknowledge that as a fan of the sport, you're beyond help- pretty much the OP.
Again, depends on how you look at it.
You give credit but how much do you give? Everything is relative.
Diego was severely drained and the Gatti Floyd fought, well, do I really need to explain? Oscar fought Gatti a few years before and said it best. "If I lose to Gatti, I might as well retire." So how much credit can we give Oscar after that statement? Really?
I didn't need to read through the posts. I already knew the outcome.
The OP clearly has not followed Floyd Mayweather's career, because to say that they have never seen a masterclass means either (A) they don't know jack about boxing or (B) they haven't seen many of the fights.
It is 100% accepted in boxing that Mayweather/Gatti was the most dominant, most effective, most shocking display of boxing superiority ever seen from Mayweather. Roy Jones on commentary saying "Right lead, right lead, right lead....he can't miss!", Roger Mayweather in the corner like, "Give'em sommore of that hook...on his ass!" Mayweather was tagging that poor dude with repeated combinations. I was begging the ref to stop the fight on a few occasions.
Angel Manfredy was made to look like a fresh rookie against Floyd.
Pacquiao/Algieri might as well have been a sequel to Mayweather/Corrales, for all the knockdowns Floyd put on him. Mind you this is a guy (Corrales) who went to war with Castillo, and Floyd made short, easy work of him.
Mayweather called out Hamed, who ducked him (per Manny Steward, RIP).
Mayweather didn't outpower Bruseles, but it was 100% a boxing clinic.
People criticize Floyd for the Baldomir fight because Carlos wasn't that great of a fighter. But if you want to see a true BOXING "masterclass", this fight will best demonstrate the stylistic dominance Floyd crafted after his hand jury.
Beyond the Baldomir fight, you have to look at boxing finesse if you want to fairly judge Mayweather's fights. De La Hoya, Hatton, Marquez, Guerrero, Mosley and Canelo were all upper crust in terms of boxing skill and style, especially Guerrero.
But I maintain: if you want to really understand what brought Floyd to the dance, look no further than the Gatti fight. Period.
I dont get what your about , the boxing lesson Floyd gave JMM was as fine a schooling of an ATG that youre ever gunna see , to do that to such a great boxer was amazing Floyd made him look like a C grader .
If i let you fight my crippled neighbor that wouldn't be considered fair isn't it?
I quit clearly have stated that i have only seen the fights mentioned.
I was honest, and only the Canelo one was a good performance in my eyes, but winning by 4 rounds against a wight drained 23 year old is not "masterful display"
Look its my opinion, i am sure floyd hardly cares consider hes a multi millionaire
