Would you class Carl Froch as a power puncher?

I think over the years he's focused on his timing to win decisions or wear his opponents down.

He's had too many losses and close calls where he got caught slinging power shots.

If it weren't for his average speed, when an opponents more stationary (worn down) he can slug a real hard shot though, clearly.

Very heavy handed like Maidana, not one punch concussive power but if he connects, he can put you to sleep.

Solid puncher with accuracy. He can land the 3 or 4 punch combos and has the potential to KO anyone at his weight.

Taylor, Bute and Groves (1& 2) some examples where his accumulation of punches have overwhelmed his opponent. After Froch is done with them his opponents are regarded as "Chinny".
I consider him a power puncher but obviously not on the level of the elite Heavyweights because it's a different ball game over 200LB.

I was trying to think of someone to compare his power too and saw this and have to agree. His speed may not be too great and his shots can be telegraphed a little etc, but if he gets in a good one you can pretty much bet that you will feel it.

He might not blast everyone out of there but his power is enough to consider him a powerful puncher.

I regards to how it could possibly compare to GGG, I think GGG hits a lot harder and has better shots. I am not sure who would win that fight if it happened, I'd be torn between two guys on my list of current favourites but think my head would favour GGG though.

Not one punch power (unless you let him tee off like Groves) but he has an accumulative effect on most of his opponents.

He is a good finisher though. When his opponent is hurt but not out, like in Groves 1 and Taylor, he normally mullers them with accurate shots to body and head.

i think he does have one punch power, but it's not often with how slow and clumsy he is that he gets the clean shots that'd be required

exactly, i feel alot of peop,e ave one punch power if they time it well and the oppent does not see it coming. I.E manny pac on Hatton and martinez on paul williams, marquez on Manny pac etc.

i thinnk true power is hurting someone badly when they do see it coming. Althiugh froch aint no Kovalev, he certainly hurts you. I think hes just not as good as Kovalev, Gennedy etc....which is a different debate all togather.

Froch is very heavy handed. At times he will deliver straight hard punches and is a better technical fighter than he gets credit for.
