Would you class Carl Froch as a power puncher?

Now first anf formost i think Gennedy golovkin beats Froch. Hes just to good.

However i noticed someone said Froch is not a puncher. I disagree, i think his power is his best attribute. He has a KO percentage just shy of 70%. Now i know what you are thinking, its no Sergey Kovalev, Gennedy, Stevenson, Wladimir level stuff.

But look who he fought at earn that 70% KO ratio.


Bute, Ward, Kessler twice, Groves twice, Jermiane Taylor, Arthur Abraham, Glen Johnson, Andre dirrell, Jean Pascal etc etc.

These guys are either yuong slicksters, P4P Defence, oR P4P chins. Esepcially Johnson, Abraham, Kessler and Pascal.

So surely Carl has the power to stop Gennedy no???

Definitely, Froch can punch.He's no julian jackson but he can crack, look at what he did to george groves and bute.

Not one punch power (unless you let him tee off like Groves) but he has an accumulative effect on most of his opponents.

He is a good finisher though. When his opponent is hurt but not out, like in Groves 1 and Taylor, he normally mullers them with accurate shots to body and head.

He is heavy handed and puts a lot of leverage in his shots. He is most definitely a damaging puncher. I think even Andre Ward - who handily won there fight, was feeling Froch's power and was getting a little weary towards the end.
