Comments Thread For: Arum Reacts To Mayweather-Pacquiao Rematch Rumor

No matter what has been rumored or reported, there have been no discussions of a rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, who finally squared off on May 2nd, with Mayweather winning a unanimous decision.

"Unless they're negotiating with somebody else, it's not me," said the head of Top Rank, Bob Arum, with a laugh, to BoxingScene.com.

"There have been no negotiations, what everybody is saying is with the incredible amount of money that they did last time that neither guy can make anywhere near the money fighting somebody else then they could fighting each other..

This is exactly what I was telling co-workers and friends that claimed the fight was going to be staged so a rematch would be warranted and even more money could be made.

I told them, there only one way in hell a rematch would make even more $$$ is that the first fight was awesome. Actually we got the exact opposite. A ***** fight with pissed off fans all around the world. Do you think they want to pay for a repeat?

I have no doubt that the hype machine and marketing dept. of Showtime and HBO could cook up another farce to make a rematch sound tasty, but I think the true boxing fans knows what's up with this fight and should a rematch happen.

2 further aged dinosaurs way out of their prime going at it again and will probably mirror the first fight because I can't see Pac ever getting back to his top form of his prime years and Jr. doesn't have to do much different.

Should a rematch happen, I can see it being financially successful but no where near the original in terms of demand and hype.

True! But u can't blame them either. A fighters specific fan base will always want revenge. The rest of the boxing world doesn't wanna see it. And tbh, only Floyd fans really care to see Floyd fight again. He won the fight but he really didn't win over anyone with the way he fought. I for one have no interest in seeing him again. Unless it's a crazy match up that can lure me in. If it's just another fight, I won't even watch it.

I enjoy Floyd's fights. Then again, I like watching thinkers as much or more than I do watching brawls. But we agree, only Pacquiao fans with delusions of revenge want to see this again. Thankfully, it's over.

Floyd's fans justification for his boring style of fighting.

              Thinkers or stinkers?

How would a guy be a thinker when he knows that from the onset that his style of fighting, hugging, and running results in heckles and boos and yet did not even thought of changing it?

why after all this time Floyd has not thought of how to knock opponents out besdes sucker punching them if he is really a thinker

              LOL

              you call that thinker?

I'm sure they will do it again as its too much money to leave on the table.

I really don't care for the fight though. Mayweather cleaned Pacmans clock and i don't see it changing...but what the hell, i would take or give a beating for $50M and I'm sure they will do too

Want the rematch in a neutral venue and not in america

                  not a single murican judge

USADA should never be the testing agency

                  Ref should not be murican

and the guy who compiles all the score should know what colors are red and blue

let see if Floyd can clean Pac's co.ck err i mean clock

                  Floyd is TBE they say

So the venue of the fight does not really matter

the ref if not murican does not really matter

testing agency even if it's not and should better be not USADA does not really matter

If judges are not murican does not really matter

Because he is TBE they say he can beat all his opponents regardless.

                  you agree?
