  • Comments Thread For: Geale's Promoter: Miguel Cotto Has a Rematch Clause

Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32 KO's) has an added layer of protection as he enters the first defense of his WBC middleweight title against former three time world champion Daniel Geale (31-3, 16 KO's) of Australia on June 6, 2015 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The fight will be televised live.

According to Geale's promoter, Gary Shaw, the Cotto side has a rematch clause in place. If Geale wins, and then Cotto exercises that clause - the two of them would meet again.

An upset win would throw a wrench in the plans of Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who hopes to fight Cotto in the fall, and Cotto's mandatory challenger Gennady "GGG" Golovkin.

Seriously, fuvk cotto. Even if geale beats his ass,he gets to fight for the belt again? At this rate geale and cotto will have a trilogy.

Didn't rematch Trout. Won't rematch Geale either.

Hopefully Geale Brutalizes him so he doesn't want a rematch. Cotto is not a Middleweight. Even Floyd Mayweather would have Knocked Out Sergio Martinez in that fight and Adrien Broner would have knocked out that Sergio as well.

Miguel Chocha. I have never turned on a fighter so drastically. I loved him last year, now I want to see him get brutally beat up in the most savage manner possible.

That's why I would rather see him fight Golovkin than Canelo. Both beat his ass but Golovkin leaves him lying in a puddle of his own blood much worse than Margarito did.

I will be rooting for Cotto against Geale, it will be tough fight but hopefully Cotto gets the nod I want to see Canelo vs Cotto in the fall, but last time Trout ruined those plans.
