it was a catchweight with an undefeated young fighter who was the titleholder and weighed in just one pound more prior to the fight.....not a catchweight against an unranked guy, for a vacant title, Margarito was 2 fights removed from getting KTFO

Margarito by far. Stylistically, Margarito posed a bigger threat to Manny than the relatively green Canelo to Floyd.

Manny had to be on his A game or the much bigger Margarito would have beat Manny.

On the other hand, the slow flat-footed Canelo was thinking that he can outbox Floyd. Game over. Now add to that Canelo who already had stamina and work-rate issues had to drain down 2lbs while Margarito was given a bonus of 3lbs for the Manny fight, its another reason to pick Margarito.

Floyd's team was laughing at that version of Canelo. They saw so many flaws that still needed to be polished.
