  • Comments Thread For: Dirrell: I'm Faster, Smarter, Better Boxer Than DeGale

Andre Dirrell (24-1, 16KOs) is looking for a breakout performance on Saturday night, when faces Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale (20-1, 14KOs) with the vacant IBF super middleweight title at stake. The title fight will headline a Premier Boxing Champions card from Boston.

The fight is viewed as a 50-50 match between two of the better contenders in a loaded division of top talent. Dirrell feels that he certainly has several advantages over his talented opponent, who comes across the ocean to fight on American soil.

Dirrell feels that he has the advantage in speed, ring intellect and mental cunning.

Anyone who thinks this fight is 50-50 knows shiat about boxing and is possibly ******ed. Dirrell is one of the best boxer's on the planet and when he moves in the ring he's untouchable. The guy has reflexes like a cat and you can't even hit him. He has such a wonderful and quick jab and his fights are poetry in motion . He is better than Ward and someone actually think DeGale is 50-50 what are they smoking? Dirrell can easily beat Ward, he just has been out but give him 2 more fights and he will be back to his best as long as he reverts to his style he used against Froch and Abraham not this new one where he has sticky feet in an attempt to please fans.

I don't know about that. But I know you're more shot and have a dodgy chin and no heart.

I feel as if DeGale is overlooked and underestimated a lot.

I think it is 50/50! I'm leaning towards DeGale because I think DeGale will get physical with him inside and do what ever it takes to win even get a little dirty with him if he has to. Dirrell can be rattled mentally and he starts to complaining to the ref.

If Dirrell is on top of his game and has everything working then he likely wins but that is a Big "IF"

Dirrell might be the better boxer but just like his brother they'll have all the advantages in the ring and allow the other fighter to dictate the pace.
It's the most frustrating thing to watch.

The Dirrell brothers. Two guys who do just enough to lose close decisions.

DeGale hasn't had the same exposure as Dirrell and Dirrell is a better athlete, but that's it. All other advantages lie with DeGale. Dirrell is a weak mentally. He'll start strong, realise he's outgunned and run. DeGale's good as closing off the ring though and he'll get stronger as the fight unfolds. Dirrell might get some early points though.

Although not always the case, on this particular occasion the Bronze and Gold Olympic medals Dirrell and DeGale respectively won at the Olympics are a perfect analogy of how their pro careers have panned out so far.

Unless they've developed PED's that grow you a pair, Dirrell's got no business making such statements.

One really has to question what poetry, if indeed any you've been reading pal?
