Why Is There No Pressure For Ward To Fight Kolalev?

Kola is a super middle, almost making as much noise as GGG and is coming off a win over one of the most known boxers on the planet, Bhop and another over Jean Pascal. Stevenson is in the plans for the future, but that fight is 50/50 that it gets made. Regardless, doesnt Ward/Kolalev make more sense?

If he had been fighting consistently over the past 2 years you can bet there would be, I think people are just fed up with Ward for wasting years of his career.

Every time he says he is going to fight soon we wait another 6 months and nothing happens. Lets hope this one coming up kickstarts a busy year for Ward and then we see a push for Kovalev.

But why are these dudes so adamant that GGG fight Ward? Why not Kolalev? That fight makes much more sense.

Well there's probably behind the scenes pressure now.

He's fighting at 172. Whether it's a one stop deal or not, people will start saying he fought at LHW.

Also, Jay Z can't put Ward on BET forever... unless the Smith fight smashes all expectations... but the initial show will lack due to other fights happening that day.
They're gonna go back to HBO to try and get fights and HBO won't wanna pay for the tune-ups he brought last time. Ward isn't PPV either, so he might have to bend a little there.

Also once at LHW who's there other than Kovalev that HBO would care about buying? Maybe not PPV, but they did Ward 2M to Rodriguez 1M. I don't know what's Ward's minimum, but definitely over 1.5 (Thanks Goosen).

They defo don't have the money in the budge for this year, but maybe next year...like Duva says

Because his g@y fans know he'll probably lose.

Typical American privilege, they want to see the foreigner lose and feel threatened.

people calling for ward/GGG are doing so because they want to see GGG skills against top flight comp, something we haven't seen yet.

Kov/GGG fans have been calling for Kov/Ward because they think Kov has the better chance of beating Ward than GGG does and they do not want to see GGG lose, especially to an American.

Another important piece-GGG can't get a fight with the best MW's so him fighting Ward fills that void. Kov has quality opponents at 175 that will fight him (although his resigning with HBO took away the Stevenson and bieterviev fights, the 2 best opponents, for now)

Since both men said they were willing to go up a weight class to fight, both should be held to it.

He has been so inactive that he is out of the conversation of most of the match ups. Once he gets in there again then he will be pressured for a better match up

If he moves up to 175, he should.

So I guess I'll see you calling for Ward Kovalev then?
