The pound-for-pound rankings as it is now is just Chuck Giampa's list.Comment

that's interesting, and thanks for providing the link.
it's kind of an odd look for doug fisher to be airing stuff out like that in public. it sounds like there's some real conflict there.
a chuck giampa dictatorship is a very flawed rating system. i'd be embarrassed for ring mag if that policy was in place during 2012, when the article was written, or now.Comment

http://rin gtv.craveonline.com/news/176459-dougies-friday-mailbag-97That mailbag is from 2012 and there is nothing to indicate whether that is still how things are today or if they have changed. If it means that much to someone, why not write an email to Dougie and ask him about it.that's interesting, and thanks for providing the link.

Definitely didn't deserve fighter of the year last year imo. Inoue had a better year basically beating two number #1's in two different weight divisions (Narvaez and Hernandez were both #1 when Inoue beat them) and in more impressive fashion than Crawford did Gamboa and Burns.
Why is Gamboa such a marquee name? He was coming off a year of inactivity before that only fought once in 2012. It was only his second fight at 135 and was giving Crawford the business until the size disadvantage took affect.
GGG's best wins are comparable to Crawfords. GGG also has more wins agaisnt top 10 fighters than Crawford. He's also defeated them in more impressive fashion than Crawford has. Crawford struggled with Gamboa and Dulorme (Dulorme should have been up either 3-2 or 4-1 going into the 6th round). GGG barely loses a round and people criticize him like crazy.
This was roughly the ranking of their opposition at the time they fought them:
Murray (top 5 overall), Geale (top 10 overall), Rubio (top 10), Stevens (top 10), Macklin (top 10 has fallen off tremedously), Proska (ranked by some organizing bodies), Rosado (ranked highly at 154 by most sanctioning organizations before moving up), Monroe (#2 WBA), Ouma (former champion
)>>> Gamboa (i don't even know if gamboa was ranked at 135 at that time or where, but he didn't do much at that weight), Beltran (top 10 overall), Dulorme (ranked by organizing bodies), Burns (top 3 overall), Prescott (not top 10 at 140 when Bud fought him-but I respect this win for taking it on short notice)
Like I stated previously, Comparable resumes but GGG has beat his opposition in a more convincing fashion. GGG has also faced more ranked opponents. GGG has been champion much longer and has more titles defenses.
Of course all lists are subjective and i'm not trying to **** on you're list. But it's crazy how much people hate GGG, yet they say Crawford deserves to be a head of him for having done less.
I really like Crawford but people have to slow it down a little. I would have him somewhere at 11-15. Uchiyama is without a doubt Top 10!!! Yama almost gets no respect.
I really like your list for the most part though, except imo Pacquaio has not been top 2 p4p for a while. Also, while I'm a big Bradley fan, not sure he's done enough to stay there if he has he's probably like 9 or 10 (Uchiyama should be ranked a head imo). But everyone has their own opinion and you have to respect it.Last edited by HI-TECH Boxing; 05-19-2015, 05:19 PM.Comment
