Professional boxers r usually very tough guys . I don't like when people marginalize GGG KO streak . Most journey men who are ranked 10th or 15th by any given sanctioning body are difficult to KO , so when we see someone who's knocking out or stopping Rosado (who's extremely tough) and Stevens then it's nothing to sneeze at . Do I think GGG should be tested against tougher opponents like Ward and Canelo = Absulutely . But do I think he's overrated = Absoluteley Not . No more than I think Wilder is overrated for his very high KO streak , even though we probably couldn't name most of the opponents on his record. Instead of attempting to maginalize what they r doing in the ring , I think the real question we should be asking is r these Eastern Europeans clean fighter or r they taking some new undetected enhancement that is giving them inordinate power .
While I totally agree with you on how these so called fans marginalize any boxer's accomplishment I think your assumption or presumption of Eastern Europeans being dirty is completely wrong. The reason these guys are totally dominating in the heavier divisions is the same reason Cubans dominate in the smaller divisions; its their long and very successful amateur careers. GGG said it best when he said its not really power but technique on how to land that makes the difference. Most boxers today have no idea how to box, they have horrible fundamentals, promotional companies lock these young guys up and baby them to make the most amount of money, so when they actually do get challenged they get exposed. These days a boxer that actually throws jabs is like the freakin' Lock Ness monster. ITS A JAB, on of the most important if not the most important punches in boxing and very few boxers actually use it, that is insane!
Back to my point, Kovalev was 195-18 in the amateurs, GGG was 345-5, Lomanchenko was 396-2, and so on. These guys have tons of experience and actually learned the fundamentals of boxing which is why they look so good. Not only do they have a lot of experience but when they go pro they are usually 25 years of age or older so their bodies are fully developed and primed.
Fact is I love boxing and I hate when people jump to conclusions. If a guy is good, let him be good and don't assume the worst because he is good. Appreciate boxers for what they do and enjoy the show. I get so upset when so-called fans call boxers tomato cans or bums as if they could ever do better. Fact is most fans have never even stepped in the ring and I would bet my paycheck people that call any boxer a bum would get murdered by that bum in the ring. If you can do better by all means get in the ring and prove us wrong... but I digress from my point. These guys are good because they train and have experience point blank.

While I can agree with most of ur post I'll say this ; boxing is a game of attrition , therefore a hefty amateur background is not solely a benefactor but a double edge sword as it also equals more wear and tear . As far as technique being the reason for the distinction in power I'll say this ; Kovalev merely tapped Caparello to the front of his body from long distance and forced him to take a knee . There was no shifting involved . Lomachenko is probably the only one who is really using some advanced footwork and technique . Kovalev simply uses his inordinate power as his vanguard and anticipates that his opponents chin win succumb under his pressure before his does under yours . He does nothing special ! GGG does angle his toes inwardly when in close and aiming for kidney shots but that's about it , outside of that he does nothing really special as his footwork is average at best at any other distance . The main commonality is that they all sit heavily on their punches and rely heavily on mere power . I think Lomachenko is the distinguished boxing wizard out of the bunch ! For the record , I'm not concluding that these guys r all dirty , but what I am stating is that I'm su****ious and I feel I have a reasonable right to be as I watched Trinidad
ruin careers while most cheered on the KO campaign . I also watched unprecedented history while McGuire and Sosa was on their history making home run campaign . If history has taught us anything it's taught us to think critically when these sort of record breaking anomalies start occurring with high frequency
people like to forget cotto to a risk by going up and fighting martinez who people said cotto would duck then preceded to say he had no chance all way up until cotto knocked him down and busted his knee up now he gets no credit for the risk he took. because of the risk he took now u guys want him to fight the even bigger ggg? get the **** outta here and i dont want to hear he should vacate crap hell vacate when he dam well pleases ggg is not god
He has the ****ing belt and GGG is the mandatory. Canelo doesnt even fight at middleweight. Cotto the diva won the belt at a catchweight, is defending it against a non mandatory cab driver, at a catchweight. If he isnt going to be a real middleweight, the dump the ****ing belt already.

He ducked him back in 2010-11. During his prime and healthy days.

Canelo's last 2 fights have been at 155, aka middle weight.
Cotto has more experience with hard hitters than GGG. As all boxers state, it all boils down to what happens in the ring. Cotto has got a great chin!
Had Cotto not done that ****** Pac catchweight or illegal wraps with Margarito the circumstances would even be greater than it is now.
Cotto knows what to do in adjustment against A level fighters. GGG has fought which A level fighter? How many belts has GGG won in how many divisions? You guys need to stop saying ''diva'' it sounds like a feminine forum. Cotto has done more than enough to justify his recognition and bring a huge fan base. The problem is that boxing youtube channels distort and exaggerate the context of what boxers say. When Cotto says that he's not going to be told who to fight is a general shot at fans forcing a fight or what other boxers put media press pressure towards Cotto on who to fight. The fights are coming, just stop talking nonsense.
Cotto is nothing like GGG's resume of opponents. You guys just make up crap. GGG is going to first rely on his range controlled jab against Cotto, so WE have to see how Cotto's going to gameplan that out. 2nd, GGG when he gets tagged by B level fighters he acts all goofy and reserved...Look at the Curtis Stevens fight when he rocked half way back through the ring with counters. Look at Proksa tagging him all night. Look at GGG in the 4th round corner huffing and puffing against, again Southpaw opponents ala Monroe Jr. Those are all B level opponents. It might be debatable whether Monroe Jr. is an A level Southpaw at 160. I think Lee is an A level Southpaw as he's timed and has a better IQ than GGG's resume opposition. If Cotto sneaks shots like Proksa did, GGG is going to lose decisively as Cotto has WAY more power than GGG's opposition. I doesn't matter how fast GGG ends dudes, its about what GGG does against A level opposition. Julio Cesar Chavez as an example with a 30 KO streak and 80-0 record until he fought Whitaker. Cmon yall wake up. HBO taking yall for a ride.
