It was pretty clear after the 2nd it was just a matter of time. GGG let Monroe's adrenaline drain what ever he had left in him to set up the KO. He knew Monroe couldn't hurt him. He was already done...he still had some spirit left but he would have done better to just try to survive and stay out of harms way for a few rounds on the chance he could have gotten his legs and head back...but his legs were gone so he fought stationary in front of GGG. Monroe was moving until he got hurt.

GGG always fights with the intention of setting up the KO. He breaks his opponents down with the intention of perpetuating his KO record...it's his money/signature distinction and everything he does is with that in mind.

He will fight him at 160 any-day anytime! The only problem is Ward would only bring 100 fans with him to the show, he is that boring. GGG knows he would beat Ward easier than he did Monroe but who would care to watch it? Ward is a non-factor that fights what once every 2 years, maybe? He won a glorified Boxinco (Supersix) and has done zilch in the years since( And 2 of those most recent fights were against weight drained guys that he forced to come down to 68).

        No.

If you are referencing the 1st Maidana fight. Mayweather claimed he was going to stand more toe to toe in all his presses before the fight. Many people just don't pay attention

Are you drinking? "Golovkin was stunned in the 2nd"? You must be a comedian!

I am, actually. But yeah, interpret it how you want. He caught a left (I believe) that caused him to do a little two step as he was driven back. He definitely was stunned. Not buzzed or hurt.

Agreed. To my eye, this was exactly the case. Realistically, GGG could have pushed on the gas in the third and beat the guy down. GGG's gas tank is bigger than all that so don't tell me he punched his self out. I don't believe it. GGG carried the guy a few rounds. He wanted to give a show.

Monroe did some good things in that fight and had some success on the inside. He should be proud of his performance and not buy into these comments that were made to maintain the aura of invincibility of HBOs investment.

GGG needs to use this to polish his inside game.

he says that in almost every fight. it's called promoting the fight. he said he was going to go for the ko in the second fight and ran around and clinched nonstop. he wasn't ready for maidana but in the second fight he damn well made sure he was with all the clinching and kenny bayless.
