I heard the same thing from a lot of old fighters. I think these older boxers see Floyd as a guy who had a lot of help getting to the top. A lot of ducked fights and a lot of strange refereeing and judging got Floyd to where he is. The refereeing in the second Maidana, and the Hatton, Gatti, and Ortiz fights was illegal. The constant holding that was being allowed, and the breaks the referees would call to stop Floyd from getting hurt were bad. The justification for the Ortiz knock out is by far the worst. That knockout was up there with Tua's knock out win over Rahman and Fonfara's win over Kaperncy. Older fighters like Tyson, Norris, and Holeyfield, see Floyd the same way professor Griff would see Little Wayne, like a straight *****. So all you new Floyd fans that think a 154 pound man is the baddest dude in the world, stick with it. I'll be supporting all the heavier boxers and the top MMA guys who will beat the hell out of Floyd.

Getting an understanding of p4p and, while you're at it, learn about the sport. Your post shows lack of knowledge.

A lot of the punches were hard to spot while watching live. Manny landed hard ones but Floyd has a great chin and his best attribute is the ability to stay calm when buzzed. Manny wasn't able to capitalize on the hard shots. Some of his landed punches werent easy to spot live since Floyd rolled them off pretty well too.

Floyd controlled the pace and dictated the fight tempo. Manny got lulled into Floyd's game. In a fight wherein few punches land, its easier to go for the one who imposes his style so Floyd looked more dominant while manny looked off since people expected much more activity from him.

Watching live, I had it 8-4 Floyd. Seeing the replay, I had it 7-5 since Manny actually landed some hard shots in the 3rd, including one that vriefly staggered floyd before he bell. Rounds 7 and 8 were close but I favored Floyd a bit.

He said Pacquiao won after the fight and then changed to Mayweather after watching it on TV, now he says it's a draw. Only seen Mosley and Holyfield say Pacquiao won out of all the fighters that have given their opinion. If we were to name all that said Mayweather it would probably go into the 100s.

....most fighters go with the majority and just follow the sheep......you have silly max kellerman who berated pacquaio for him thinking he won the fight live on t.v and everybody just followed what he said....we all should have taken a step back and viewed the fight a few more times for a fair judgement ....we all get swayed by what you hear from commentators and that can often cloud your independent judgement....I too when watching it live had floyd winning 8-4.....but now I've changed my mind and its a very close fight.....in fact a draw .....some rounds are impossible to judge......I think pacquaio had the 2 biggest rounds of the fight with rounds 4 and 6.....mayweathers clear rounds rounds were 1,2,5,12 pacquaios were 4,6,9,10. 3,7,8,11 were very close rounds.....there is nothing wrong with mosleys statement and he should speak his mind even if it bothers all the mayweather fans

Honestly those saying that Floyd won easily baffle me a bit. Yes, going by the custom judging standards they have in Nevada these days, he won clearly. But you do not clearly win a 12 round title fight by refusing to engage quite a lot of the time, pot shotting, and clinching. Im a big fan of clean punching over aggression to win fights, but when it is infrequent clean punching interspersed with clinching and negative moving (moving that is not aimed to cause openings)... I just find it hard to call that man a winner.''

Truth be told, this fight had its moments but all in all it was highly disappointing considering the quality of the two guys. Neither did enough to win the fight. So i whole heartedly agree with Mosley that it could have called a draw. Notice a number of other boxing people have stated this.


If this exact fight played out with two no namers on ESPN friday night fights, everyone would be calling it a draw.

I watched it again and still could only give Pacquiao rounds 4 and 6, even then Mayweather actually put in good work in those two rounds and I was reluctant to give Pacquiao round 6. It just shows people don't know how to score fights.

For gods sake..cant you people see past this bs and realise, with money that floyd is generating, he has been able to influence the judges to give pay to his minimalist style of fighting. Im not alleging outright bribery(who knows) but the judges know the money floyd makes for vegas, and they know him keeping his 0 is good for their pay checks in return. Im telling you 10-15-20 or more years ago any fight playing out like this would be scored a draw, and often given to the guy who actually came forward and tried to make the fight.
