I remember before the fight a good amount of people were giving Kirkland a chance of winning because of his punching power and relentless pace coupled with incredible stamina. Most were expecting him to at least test Canelo's chin, but because he got destroyed now Kirkland is a complete bum who never had a chance. I am not saying that Kirkland is a great fighter but at his best he was always dangerous, people are forgetting that now. I am pretty sure that Cotto saw the fight too.

Usually this happens when they bought all that HBO nonsense to sell the fight.

1. Most people 90% we're saying Maravilla will kill Cotto. We all saw the 24/7 show and the fight he looked ok until he got hurt by Cotto.


2. The world including Cotto was waiting for Floyd to anounce if he was going to fight in May 2, 2015. Oscar and Canelo 'we are from Mexico we should be the ones owning that date blah blah whining whining.

3. All that cost All crappy fights end of year, Cotto proceeded with no fighting then. After long layoff he gets non Ppv dangerous fight to warm up.

Cotto needs to stfu. His last opponents were Delvin Rodriguez LMAO! And a terribly washed up Sergio Martinez that lasted all 12 taking Cotto's "powerful" punishment. FOH. I'm starting to lose respect for this guy. He's talking and talking. Which is one thing he normally never does.

the guy stepped up to the plate after everyone was saying he would duck martinez then everyone said he had no chance after seeing them face to face. im so tired of cotto getting bashed for that fight when in reality all he did was fight not his fault martinez knees were worse then everyone thought

WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto was not interested in watching the recent victory by Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who knocked out James Kirkland in the third round on May 9th in Houston, Texas.

Canelo dropped Kirkland three times, with final knockdown coming from a monster right hand that sent the "Mandigo Warrior" down for the count.

Cotto is training for scheduled defense of his title on June 6th against former three time champion Daniel Geale at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
